Pilot Chair for Boat
Great replacement seat for our boat. Comfortable and easy to install. Much cheaper to purchase a new one than to recover the old one.

Nice seat, a little flimsy.
This is a nice seat with a nice cushions, and probably cost the same or less than replacing my old cushions. So it first appearance it looks really nice. I am concerned that it feels a little thin and I am worried about long-term sturdiness. I have not really put it through anything rigorous. We’ll see how it lasts.Update - holding up fine. But make sure you put lock washers on the screws underneath as they WILL back out. I also have loctite on them now.

PURCHASE THIS HAS A REPLACEMENT FOR 175 BAYLINER 2012 CAPTAIN CHAIR.REPLACE THE THE FITTING WITH THE BAYLINER AND FIT PERFECTLY. AS MENTION BY OTHERS SEAT MEASURES 17 INCHES WIDE. IF YOU HAVE A BAYLINER YOU DO NOT NEED A PEDESTAL OR SWIVEL ATTACHMENT.

‘ Leans back a lot
Seems nicely made, but it did arrive with slight damage and it looks like the snaps for the cushions were installed crooked on the plastic chair itself… Also, it leans way back in a reclined position… Have to lean forward to reach the controls of the boat

They look nice, but not comfortable or sturdy
I bought these when I started refurbishing my 16 ft StarCraft aluminum boat. After 2 years one of the finishing touches was installing the seats. I had to find pedistals that were short enough. Found some but I had to cut them down to bring to the proper height. I installed the seats and they lean too far back. And when you do lean back against the seats it just isn't a comfortable position for driving the boat. The plastic flexes back, it's not the pedistal bases, they are rock solid. They look pretty in the boat, but imagine trying to drive a boat in a semi reclined position. Just not comfortable position, and I can't foresee them lasting driving in the bay with the waves flexing the plastic. The backs should be in a more upright position. I would not recommend these seats. Period.

Would buy again
Very happy with purchase. We read many reviews on many different boat seats and finally settled on this one. Our original seat was made from of a wood base covered with vinyl and it was very large and hard to maneuver around. The Florida sun and saltwater finally caused the wood to rot. This chair will be used for driving the boat (not fishing from or lounging in), so the size is perfect. My husband is 6'5" and 265 lbs, and he fits in it no problem. I also believe the composit construction will last much longer than the wood base. I also like that the cushions are removable. Many reveiws talked about the snaps lining up, but the one I received match up perfectly.
