It makes gardening fun again!
As summer comes so does our fast growing bushes and trees. It has always been a pain to use our pruning clippers on them, and I always fell behind. The plants grew faster than I was willing to sit in the sun to trim them. These battery powered clippers however make it a breeze to keep everything trimmed. These clippers are easy to use and fully compatible with my existing Makita batteries. With the smallest 1.5AH Makita battery, it trims for a very long time and is relatively lightweight. After several bins full of trimmings, I barely moved the battery below 100%. There's an LCD indicator on the trimmer to show the battery level and number of trimmings, but I found the display to be unnecessary. The power on/off button is near the battery with a beep to confirm it's on. The cutter is so powerful and sharp, I was worried about getting in the way of it from a safety perspective. Once you press the trigger, it does its job with efficiency. There's no going back. The cutter, gears and motor sounds a little like the word "guillotine" every time cuts! It usually cuts thick branches in one pass, unless you have a very dry, dense and thick branches where you may need to trigger it multiple times. Even then, it was still impressive and much better than if I had struggled to do it by hand. It comes with a nice case to hold the cutter and a few accessories to swap out the blade, although I won't be putting it away until the end of summer!Bottom line, this is my new handy tool that I can't live without!

My new go to! Great addition to the Milwaukee tool collection.
My new go to! Started by attacking a neglected privet with a base having about 1" stems. I reached in and eliminated all 1/2-3/4" stems at about the 3ft height. Worked VERY well on this soft green wood. That brought a thought of "what about dead hardened woody stems?" Found one. Cut it with the same results as the green wood! The on and off button is a bit tricky with a beep generated. Seems the trick is to have an eye on the power window. When that's light color with notations it's ready to go. Just keep your finger off the trigger till ready to use.I'm using the XC5.0 Milwaukee battery and find the balance just fine. Although not Milwaukee, for my overgrown yard it's going to do the job well. The construction seems to be almost comparable with other Milwaukee tools I have. It does come with its own case and tools to adjust the blades and an extra blade.

Lightweight and powerful.
This is an AMAZING little pruner! It is sharp, powerful and FAST. I chose this one because I have dewalt batteries already and also because this one is very light weight. I wish I had purchased this years ago as I have spent so much time with hand pruners. It is a little tricky to turn it on . I believe it could cut off a finger rather easily, so BE CAREFUL! I cannot speak to its longevity because I have used it for only 2 days'

Feels like a quality tool. Fingers beware !
I de-vined my treed fence line the other day and some of the vines were very thick, woody, and long. I decided to order this tool and wait to cut and bag the vines. I had the vines bagged and chopped up in 1/3 the time it would have taken me with normal hawk bills. I also cut the vines into much shorter pieces since I wasn't using muscle power. I have a bunch of real Makita tools and batteries but I think I will only use this every 2 years or so. Powerful and dangerous tool. I love it !

Not a bad tool for the buck
It's pretty good all things considered. The construction seems to be rather well made.(surprised) It's not heavy duty by no means. This is a homeowner grade tool that uses an Industrial/Professional grade battery.(Makita) Overall seems to be pretty rugged construction for a homeowner grade tool. Cutting Inch to inch and one eighth Red oak gives it pause, however; Three quarter inch stock and smaller is trouble free. We haven't used it in large scale yet, but only testing it on a few select test branches. For as often as it will get used as a Homeowner, if it is as well made on the inside as it appears on the outside it should last the homeowner a very long time providing proper usage and care.

My new FAVORITE tool!
I wanted to trim some brush, but didn't have budget to hire gardeners, and yet could not stress my carpal tunnel hands. These are THE TICKET to a clean yard with no effort whatsoever, and so much fun that you might find you take off waaaaay more material than you'd anticipating while pruning! With these, I have pruned a dogwood tree, a camellia bush, removed random brush for better lines of sight to security cameras, taken out loads of suckers from under a plum tree, pruned an apple and a cherry tree, part of a juniper and oh so much more! They are sharp and work super well. I was able to cut some pretty good sized branches with them too by being persistent. The battery chainsaw was needed only in a few cases where the branch was just very large, or an actual trunk.

Very effective
We have an infestation of invasive Tree of Heaven sprouts in our backyard. Unfortunately, weeding is also a pruning job cause of it, and using manual shears is hard on the back and tiresome. If these don't slice through the first time, the follow up cut does the job soundly. Seriously, these are so powerful for being so compact, and despite sticking a Lithium Ion battery on it, the weight is very manageable. It doesn't feel overly sturdy, but sturdy enough to last a couple years at least. The few things I can critique on it are: the power button on the base is very stiff, small and, at times, hard to press; the startup time is kind of long, lasting several seconds after its turned on before it actually is ready to go; and there's very little in the way of safety. To that last point, the shears default state is actually open, and no closed. I'm guessing it's so someone doesn't accidentally clip their finger off when turning this off, but having to clip, THEN turn it off feels weird.Bottom line though? These accept the DeWalt 20v MAX battery, works perfectly with it, and is cheap compared to actual DeWalt brand tools. It's worth it, easily.
