Requested by the school but seems easy enough for my 8 year old to understand and use for his piano lessons.

Great up to a point.
For we absolute beginners this was great up to page 24. We could then have done with more examples at this level for practice and also for the 'Changing Hand Positions' section. Then would be better with a next stage book to introduce and develop the 'Playing Chords' theme. Or maybe it's just that I'm a very slow learner. Has the basis for a useful guide but feels hurried!

A little confusing if self teaching
When I started the book I had this impression in my mind - those notes are played with those fingers/thumb. It's not the case & confused me when it told me to play a different note with that finger/thumb. Also, I felt, not enough different practice songs for the stage I was at and I also wrote the notes in to help me better.
