I liked these cube timers and wanted one in black. It has a matte finish with nice opaque numbers. This does not have a flashing red light like the white one I have, and it does show fingerprints a bit. Still, I prefer how it looks.

Great timer, easy to use, motivating tool to get into action

I tried three of these.They all shared one or more of these defects:#1 Beeper barely audible, even on high (especially if you have any high frequency hearing loss)#2 Red “timer on” light inoperative#3 "Start timer" beeper works only occasionallyI finally gave up on getting one that was fully functional, but did keep the last one, because it is a great form factor and the "time's up" beep is generally audible.Judging from my experience and some of the other comments here, I’d hazard a guess that quality control is not a thing at this manufacturer.
