It’s high pressure!
Tried it out and doing exactly as I had expected. Good product. If you’re having problems then you just lack the common sense skills.

Perfect for use with my propane jet burner
I live in New Orleans, and we boil a lot of seafood here, so having a good boiling rig is a staple in every true Southern home. Well, I recently purchased a complete boiling setup from my local Academy Sports, which came with the boiling pot, jet burner stand, and propane regulator/hose. The only problem was, due to the massive size of the 160qt pot and the low volume output of the regulator, it took absolutely forever to get a good rolling boil going. After a quick search on Amazon, I found this awesome high pressure/high volume regulator, and wow, what a difference. Cranking this thing wide open really makes my jet burner sound like a "jet", lol. It actually put out so much volume that I found the single propane tank would get so cold from the rapid release of propane that it would cause the pressure to drop lower than normal, so I actually ended up rigging up a dual tank/dual regulator system, and now I can run the two tanks wide open for extended periods of time without any loss in pressure. Yes, it's a sweet setup. If you're looking at this for a small boiling pot or turkey fryer, it's going to be extreme overkill. This thing is meant for pots that are 80qts and above in my opinion, and the actual adjustment valve itself isn't all that precise. You almost have to unscrew it to the point of coming completely out for it to stop the flow of gas, and then it seems to put out about 100% of it's capacity with the adjustment screw only screwed in about half way. Like I said, it is meant for super high output, either on or off, and that's it.I bought two, and I would definitely buy it again.

Great regulator; so-so plastic knob
The knob to thread into the propane tank could be better: the plastic is not connected to the brass, so you have to push and turn together to thread to the propane tank. I suppose it's harder to unthread from the propane tank this way, so it could be a feature, depending on how frequently you burn through propane. The regulator works well - no complaints here. It is also very large (obvious from photo), which isn't a huge concern for me. This was perfect for completing my homebrew setup (3-burner propane manifold).

Burns a lot of propane but it's supposed to
I'm 6 years into buying the product as my last regulator went bunk. I boil a lot of seafood (lots of crawfish boils when they are in season) and year in and year out, it performs.Gets my 100 qt pot up to temp very quickly. Please note, these are intended for jet burners, not a stove or fish fry burner. It does do through propane quick but that's what its designed to do - creating a lot of heat in a short amount of time requires more fuel.If you regularly boil seafood on an outside burner, buy this product if you don't already have a high pressure regulator of at least 30 lbs psi.

"SMOKES" A 10psi retail regulator!!!
I just want to say I replaced a 10psi regulator with this BAD BOY and WOW!!! I bought a used burner from a friend that purchased the burner from Academy. The 10psi was terrible, I made sure the OLD burner was free of debris and after blowing it out with compressed air and clearing with stainless wire, freed up trash inside and cleared it out. The burner was still not producing the Flame I needed to Boil a 120qt Pot of Crawfish. After I replaced it with the Bayou Classic. I noticed a 80% increase in Flame! It boils about 1/2 a 120Qt. pot of water in 15 minutes which is more than enough water for one sack of crawfish! The T-Handle on the regulator allows for fine tuning the flame down to just enough gas to keep it lit and not let wind blow it out. WELL WORTH IT!! Saved so much time! It does use more propane but who cares when your not up for hours waiting on water to boil!

Not so great
This product worked for about 3 boils and then it started to get stuck i am not sure what is wrong with it so i went to lowes to get a different one and I haven't had a problem with the lowes one and i have been using it for about a year now.

Even the neighbors are scared.
Whoa. I was looking for greater power from my Jet cooker, but this is insane. This is the only analogy I can share... Right after the Soviet collapse post-1989, you (as a Westerner) could buy Soviet-made jet aircraft for remarkably low money. I watched one of these privately owned MiG-17's take off on full afterburner once. The noise, power and heat were nothing short of spectacular. Testing out the new regulator last night was remarkably similar to the operation of that MiG-17. As others have posted, this regulator does not have a full off setting- you have to use the valve on the propane tank to actually cut the gas off completely. As additional background, I do a fair amount of high heat cooking on a large wok (outside) and I also use a 160 q. (40 gallon) pot for crawfish. I am very pleased with this upgrade!
