Perfect beginner book
My daughter is trying to learn ukelele and this is perfect for her - easy enough for her to understand and very simple instructions and build on each skill.

Keep it Simple and a picture is worth a thousand words
My 8 year old nephew had no problem with the chords taught in the book and he was familiar with all the songs included. You hit all the marks to learn ukulele!

Helpful book
I bought this for my teenage students can tinker around on ukuleles and explore in the song book. It's very easy to follow but not too immature for teen learners. I'd recommend this for any age students. I've enjoyed playing through it myself.

Excellent Starter Book
This is a lovely book and just what we wanted to get my nephew up and running with his new uke. Fun songs, easy to follow and I even had a little look and was surprised to see that ukulele is actually much easier than I first thought. Very happy with this purchase, and it was half the price of the other kids books ( which is why I initially chose it !). Recommended.

A Great First Step!
I impulsively bought a ukulele off Amazon, and this book as well. It goes through, I think, four chords, so it's not difficult to maneuver throw the entire book. It does a good job of explaining how to play and strum the chords.

Good starter resource but could be optimized for kindle
I’m a ukulele player and elementary music teacher. This is a pretty good resource for young musicians. Language is at a good reading level for early elementary (my daughter is 5 and gifted and reads this easily). Good progression of chords, exactly the order I already teach my students. Some suggestions/gripes:1. It could be in color. Why is it black and white?2. It encourages students to strum from their wrist. This can be dangerous and lead to carpel tunnel syndrome. Better to encourage them to strum from the elbow.3. Since this is a kindle file, why not add some simple audio recordings so students can check if they’re playing it correctly?Overall, pretty good resource but with lots of room for improvement.

Great Beginning Uke Book for Kids
My grandson is 6 years old, in very early stages of learning to read. Loves music. Has "played" several instruments - all tuned to an open-G. Thought it was time for him to begin training the left hand, and so...gave him a uke for Christmas. Got this book to to assist in the left hand training. Looking through it, I believe it will be an excellent tool to help him (with my assistance) learn the mechanics of to chording an instrument. This book reminds me of the book that came with my first stringed instrument - a Silvertone (Sears) ukelele, about mid-1950's. Excellent!
