how many milliamps does the device use?

If it helps, the Sparkfun library for this family of parts includes a LED drive setting from 0 to 50 mA. So it looks like the part could draw up to 50 mA just for the LED (but that is multiplied by whatever duty cycle it uses; it's never 100%). In my case I found I only needed about 20% of the full drive to get a good signal and the device draws about 8 mA average while running, in one (of MANY) operating modes.

How small an arduino is this compatable with? An attiny85?

It uses I2C interface so as long as you have that on the microcontroller it should be fine. Attiny85 should work. I allows simulating I2C on 2 of its pins and has an arduino IDE library available.

Where can I see the schematic (circuit connection) or pin descriptions?

You can search online for "MH-ET-Live" which will show you a schematic for the module. Also, there are Arduino projects indicating how to use the device; search on "Arduino MAX30102". Also, search for "MAX30102 datasheet" for more detailed pin descriptions.
