Fit perfectly, reasonable cost and quality part!
Low cost, fast shipping and good alternative. I used in my personal 261c and it cuts like new. I usually opt for oem but figured I'd give this a try since it was for my own saw. Glad I did. I will be using them again!

Works good
All I can say is its alive! No really this thing is working great the saw rips again. I've put about 3 gallons of fuel through it since the install no problems starts first try and runs great. Cleaning and honing the cylinder properly is key for a good install and outcome.

Decent kit
Piston and wrist pin are of ok quality. One ring was bad, it was pitted bad enough that it was unusable. I had an extra ring in the shop, so it wasn't worth complaining about or wasting time to ship it back. Poor quality control.

Good quality, helped me get a "parts only" saw back up and running.
I picked up a burned up MS 271 (the style with the slip on rubber intake boot) for $50 and got this piston kit to replace the badly scored stock piston after removing all the aluminum transfer off the chrome lined stock cylinder. All in all, I had it fired up after a few hours of work.Key findings:- As with any piston and cylinder, you'll need to file your ring gap to spec. If you're rebuilding an engine, you probably already know this, but there are calculators online for figuring out ring gap of a two stroke based on the bore.- Run your fingers along every surface and look everything over for any possible machining leftovers. Mine had none, but it's always good to check.- Assembly lube! I slathered each bearing, the rings, and the bore with some oil to prevent metal on metal contact during the assembly process.- I'm not sure if it's needed, but I ran the first tank a little rich with oil to aid in lubrication during the first few heat cycles.I've now gotten a few hours on this piston and it seems to be breaking in just fine.

Very unhappy
This is the worst item I have purchased in my life very cheap made and wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Rings don’t fit in piston groves .

The results of no oil.
The replacement piston works great in my MS 271. It wasn’t too hard to replace and my saw has been performing like new. I didn’t have to replace the cylinder, only had to hone it lightly. I’ve gotten many hours of sawing for a relatively small cost.
