DMI Cotton Physical Therapy Gait Belt Transfer Belt with Handles, Quick Release, Adjustable, 50 Inches, Fleece Handles

This was perfect for helping my dad around the house. He uses a walker and the gait belt makes us both feel secure when I’m assisting him. It’s easy to adjust and the buckle snaps open/closed easily.

This belt works well for our purposes. It is used for guiding my husband as he makes transfers and needs just a little reassurance in keeping him from falling. I like having the grab handles and the larger size as an option. Also, the buckle is much easier to deal with than than the regular belt we had been using.

I ordered this belt for a CNA training course because the buckle looked like it would be easier to work with than the metal thread-through buckles. It was of good quality and true to product description. However, I learned that healthcare facilities do not use these plastic buckle gait belts and discourage their use citing the danger of pinching resident's skin and accidental release of buckle. I returned it and purchased the industry standard - a metal thread-through gait belt.

This gait belt is ok but really need one with a metal latch the physical therapist said the plastic one have a tendency to come apart

The fabric is thick and seems sturdy. The plastic snap on buckle is convenient. The two loop handles are covered with a faux fleece in the version I received. I like this as an option; it gives me something to hold on to other than grabbing the belt itself. And if it gets dirty I can machine wash it. Overall a good product.

Perfect for what we needed

A small price to pay for peace of mind. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing assistance- especially if they are using a walker, crutches, or a cane- on stairs, uneven terrain, or on unfamiliar ground.I used this belt after a total knee replacement, and thank goodness my husband and I decided to buy this particular product as it prevented me from having a nasty fall on the stairs! He held on to the belt after I stumbled, and I didn't fall. Amazingly, I wasn't hurt or bruised. ai highly recommend this product to anyone that needs physical assistance.

I am an RN using for care of immobility patient - vital for full lift patient and just love the clasp which does not have to be re-adjusted with each use. The positioning of the handles are toward the back which makes lifting correctly a breeze. Just perfect!
