UPDATE 3/17/16: Updating my review after I got in touch with Royce's customer service. They were upset to hear about my experience and actually ended up sending me a replacement higher end padfolio that retails for $120 for free. The new padfolio seems to be much higher quality leather, and I appreciate that they went the extra mile to make things right after hearing about my experience. My review about the quality issues on the original padfolio below stands, but wanted to update to reflect the fact that if you have a similar experience and reach out to customer service, they will take care of you. After this experience I'd recommend Royce Leather to anyone, just be careful about reading the product details and know what to expect if you order one of their lower-end products in terms of leather quality.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This padfolio looks really nice at first glance, but numerous quality issues have come to light over the week or so that I've owned / used it. The leather seems to be pretty high quality, and its slim profile is nice when compared to a lot of similar padfolios. However, when it arrived the front cover has a lot of little areas that seem to be glue splotches. They were initially pretty tough to see so I didn't think much of it. Originally they had white cottony fuzz on them, but they have since faded into grey blemishes on the cover (looks like the goop that a sticker leaves when you peel it off). On top of that, the leather on the side edge has already started to peel off, revealing grey padding underneath. Based on the fact that once the top layer is scratched, it reveals a completely different color of material that doesn't even appear to be leather, this is clearly very low quality leather. I haven't exactly been rough with the padfolio either - just sliding it in and out of my messenger bag - so it doens't take much to make the leather peel.Is this a decent padfolio? Sure, but for $50 I expected much better.

This is an excellent product, made with great leather and looks perfect... but that's not why I buy leather. I buy leather because of what it will look like ten years from now. If it looks good now, it will look amazing in ten years. The oils from where my hands hold it, the wear from where I open bend it, the wear marks where it slides across my desk or into my briefcase, all lend a patina that can't be earned any other way. Sure, I could tie it to the back of my car when I drive to work, but the marks wouldn't be genuine. Still, it might be better than the painful perfection I am looking at now.

Nice portfolio. But you can't monogram it. I followed yhe directions for ordering but was told by shipper that it could not be monogrammed... Which is why i chose this one over others offered on Amazon. This feature should be remived from the description if it cant be honoured. False advertising...

I ordered it in tan and it has been great. Not only does the color match my shoes, the stitching appears to be high quality and the leather feels and looks nice. It was a bit of a pain to "break in" the pockets to easily put in my documents but that's expected. It also has what appears to be a pen holder on the inside. There is a small slit in the binding and that's where I keep my pen. Overall great product.

Really well made! A lovely rich tan color. Portfolio is simple and elegant. The leather is soft with a very fine grain. The pictures do not do it justice because the colors are good but not exactly right. Picture it as a richer tan with a caramel cast. This is a quality product that will last for years. This is my second Royce Leather Portfolio. My first one is a rich mahogany color that has seen years of use and like other good leather items, it looks better for the wear.

This is a very, very nice Padfolio. I have been looking for something that is great quality but looks very professional and am very happy with this purchase. It says quality from the minute you open the box! Might seem a bit pricey but in comparing other units and looking at the quality of the stitching, leather and care to the small details it is clearly worth the price I paid for it. I am going to add this company to my favorites and it will be a go to company for other leather products.

This portfolio is exactly what I needed for work. It's beautiful, professional, and functional. I tried to find a similar portfolio at several office supply stores, but I was disappointed in the quality and styles I found. I was so impressed by my purchase when it arrived that I immediately began looking at all of the other products they offer. I also love the blue box that it arrives in. I am one happy customer.As another reviewer suggested, I used several sheets of card stock to stretch the inner paper pocket and now it holds plenty of papers.

This is a very high quality leather padfolio. I have had several others in the past and this is by far the highest quality one I have owned. I set out to find a high quality leather padfolio specifically in the light brown color and that is exactly what I got. I had never heard of Royce before but will be recommending it to friends and co-workers!
