Saved the day after I ruined my husband's original charge when he was away, and I was watering nearby plants. Next day delivery was much appreciated. It's worked well since receipt.

This charger works. Some reviews mentioned it breaks within a couple of months. I only recently bought this, so I can't confirm, but I think the problem is with the tablet itself because even the original chargers by Microsoft did not last me more than 4 to 5 months, I went through a few before they discontinued them apparently.

My poor husband got a Surface from his work for field work. We’d been hoping for an industry standard iPad, but no luck there. The charger that came with it was pretty much worn out when it arrived. This is my fourth (yep that’s 4) try at finding one that works. Of the first three replacements I bought, I believe i sent back two. The other one did charge, but it was one of those things where it would hold it where it was if it was powered on. If you wanted to charge it, it only worked if it was powered off. But at least it did something. This one actually does as advertised. It even charges if you’re using it and on an RDP, which I found surprising after my previous experiences. If it’s still working this well in a month I’ll be getting another for a backup. I really can’t speak to how durable it is or anything like that since we’ve only had it a few weeks but I’m hopeful. I’m not crazy about the design. I would have preferred a cable plugged into the power adapter. If something breaks you can just replace the broken part. Plus that design seems to last longer. Less stress on things. But the unavoidable thing is it’s the only one so far that works. I hope this is helpful to someone

I had lost my original charger a long time ago. I wish I would have bought this immediately as a replacement. Better power supply, and way better USB plug connection than I had been fiddling with for years with loose cables. The light on the USB plug is great to see that you have a good connection. This has been fantastic.

Somewhere along the way, my college age daughter lost the original power supply for her Surface 3 (non-Pro) tablet. She tried using a large phone charger instead (10W, 5v, 2A), but found that it would barely keep up with the Surface 3 when it was on, and would charge slowly when it was off. Plus, the power adapter would get really, really hot. Fearing long-term damage to the Surface, I went looking for a suitable replacement. This unit looks and behaves just like the original. It has the same solid feel (especially where the cord comes out of the wall plug) and even replicates the matte black finish. When it's on and plugged in, the light on the cable comes on to indicate it's powering or charging the device. It will charge the Surface 3 while in use too. Other than missing an official Microsoft logo, this is a fantastic replacement.

Total lifesaver! When I bought my surface 3 it just came with a micro USB to charge. It would take incredibly long to charge and it wouldn't push enough power to charge and use the the device simultaneously. The charger is super fast charging and will charge and power your device at the same time.

This is the second one I’ve purchased because I like keeping a charger at home and in my office. The other one I bought lasted about a year before the plastic covering around the charging tip came off and it would no longer hold a charge. This one has been a great replacement thus far. Feel sturdier.

Works as is should . I don't know how it will do in the puppy test. I am trying not to test this one.
