A unique take on a hydration belt that's ideal for runners, hikers, paddlers, and bikers, the Source Outdoor hipster hydration belt includes a specially shaped 1.5-Liter Widepac reservoir and detachable shoulder harness. Rather than relying on a water bottle for hydration like a standard hip belt or backpack, the hipster provides the full comfort and ease of sipping from a tube, keeping you focused on the moment. Intelligently designed with the help of professional athletes and marathon runners, the hipster takes the weight of the hydration pack off of your spine and shoulders, bringing it down closer to your center of gravity. The belt buckle is located on the side to prevent chafing, plus zippered mesh pockets on the side and Velcro-sealed small back pockets. The 1.5-Liter Widepac reservoir features Source's Glass-Like film, which is smoother than standard TPU films with virtually no difference from glass itself, preventing bio-film build up and making the system virtually self-cleaning; BPA and Phthalate free. Utilizing an FDA-approved and pea-registered anti-microbial Agent, Grunge Guard technology inhibits bacteria growth on the reservoir and drinking tube surfaces for the life of the system. It comes with a co-extruded tube and rounded Helix bite valve. Dedicated to bringing original, functional, long-lasting gear to those who inhabit the great outdoors, Source outdoors has been a groundbreaker in hydration system technology.

Short ride hydration
I was looking for a hip pack to use for shorter rides when the backpack is overkill. This product seemed to be the best features of the ones I was considering. Now that I have used it a few times I would call it decent at what it is and does. The good - holds about the right amount of water for a 2 hour ride, has some storage space, has the option of the back harness, fits a wide range of waste sizes (I am a 38 and I have a lot of spare belt), the bite valve works well, stays in place side to side. The not so good - even though the water line is covered and there is some degree of insulation, this pack doesn't keep water cold very long, without the back strap I have to cinch the belt fairly snug to keep it from sliding down on my butt, the hose could be about 6" longer, while their is storage the zippered pockets are fairly small and its tough to fit a current size cell phone in this pack, with the bladder full it is kind of cumbersome, but becomes less so as it is used.Overall - This seems fairly expensive for what it is. I am undecided if I would recommend this or would I buy it again, I have no other fanny style packs to compare it to, but it does do what its designed to do.

Works great!
This is a nice pack. It does the job. One thing that I would have liked to be different, but for me its a big thing, is I wish it had at least one larger pocket on the side that would fit a cell phone. Right now when I am hiking I either have to put my phone in the large back pocket or else carry it, and that is not convenient. Thats why I only gave it 4 stars. Everything else is great!

Has potential, too many issues.
This pack is comfortable when half filled with water. The belt slips and the magnet that holds the hose to the pack is not strong enough. The water bladder leaks heavily when filling unless the hose is snapped in, this can't be by design as the hose doesn't fit through the openings in the pack. Too many issues. I want to like it, but feel like I bought a bad beta product.

Nice quality pack and hydration bladder
Nice quality pack and hydration bladder. The shoulder straps are a bit flimsy, but i use them in a way that they don't hold that much weight. The straps are definitely needed for mountain biking. When fully loaded the pack would not stay at waist level without the shoulder straps ( regardless of how tight i cinched the waist ). I found it best to place the magnet on the shoulder strap as i kept knocking it off when clipped to the waist belt. Because of the 50L reservoir i found this pack is best used for shorter rides ( 1 - 2 hours )

Bought this as a gift for my brother and he loves it. As a mountain biker it helps keep him balanced while rider where as the upright water packs will shift the water around a lot more while riding.

Five Stars
Works well. Doesn't bounce off your back that a normal waist pouch would.

Love this pack
Love this pack! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the hydration hose clip needs to be more secure. I've had several issues with it coming unclipped while riding. The pack stays in place well even through very rough terrain.
