Psychology for Pastoral Contexts: A Handbook Paperback – Illustrated, 30 April 2013

I am a consultant psychiatrist studying theology. Some chapters in this book were required reading for my Pastoral Care Course. In the mental health section the thinking is decades out of date. The use of the term "neurotic tendency" and the following sections are very pejorative and make huge sweeping generalisations. Ministers in training who use this book will make very unhelpful judgements of people who have the misfortune to suffer from mental health disorders or difficulties.
