Great desk notepad
Unless you are willing to spend big-bucks for true leak-proof paper, Rhodia's notepad is for you. There is some leakage to the back page when using fountain pen and there is definite leakage when using Sharpies. Personally, I don't use Sharpies for notetaking. The paper tears nicely at the perforation and makes a good looking 5.9" x 7.4"paper, perfect for passing notes in class.

If you like smooth paper..
I am really finicky with my notepad/drawing pad choices because I like a certain smoothness to my paper. I love the paper in these notebooks. This is the 3rd one I have owned. Not only do I love the paper but Rhodia has notebooks in every size and shape that you can think of. They also offer their notepads with lined, blank, dotted and I think grid (but don't quote me on that last one). Oh I also love the design of the cover because you can fold it back without ruining it!

My go-to paper for writing letters with my fountain pens
Phenomenal paper. I already had the larger size in a notepad that I used for letters, but wanted a smaller one for shorter letters that didn't need an entire A4 sheet of paper. I ordered this without hesitation and wasn't disappointed; it's exactly the same paper. Stands up to even my wettest writing pens and broadest nibs. You may have a bit of trouble with smudging if you're using a hyper saturated ink or something that has a really long dry time. That's not a Rhodia problem, it's a "smooth paper" problem. But for the vast majority of my pens and inks, this paper is phenomenal.

Exactly what I was looking for
I’ve been using these pads for years to keep notes in my bathroom. I love how smoothly my pens write on the paper, also I do use both sides and have no bleed through. It’s also the perfect size to fit in my LV folder. I like the unruled paper and the sheets to tear off at the perforation.

Favorite Small Desk Notepad
I very much prefer to write with unlined notepads and this is the perfect size for short notes--consider it the Goldilocks size. If you do need to write with lines, the paper is thin enough that you can put a sheet of guide-lines underneath to follow. So really, blank paper is probably the best of all worlds--unconstrained but with that flexibility to accept structure. The paper works fantastically with fountain pens. Nibs just glide along it, so if you like a bit of feedback, this probably isn't your paper. But there is minimal bleed through and almost no feathering. And this is in spite of the thinness of the paper. It definitely doesn't feel like heavy-duty quality stationary, so it's not the most impressive paper if you're handing a note to someone written on it. The thickness is similar to that of plain copy paper. And really, that's my only gripe with it. If it had heavier paper, (ex. 80 lb), I would probably enjoy it even more. Then again, if it were thicker, you might not be able to use it with guide-lines underneath; so that might be an intended design compromise.

Great tablet for notes
Nice paper with micro-perforations to allow sheets to be torn off easily. The cover folds back completely to allow you to write on the tablet without the cover in the way. The only comment I would make on the negative side is that the entire table is A5 size, not the sheet as torn off the tablet (which is shorter by the margin that is held by the stapled cover). So the torn off sheet is only 18.9cm/7.5in long, whereas the tablet is 21.2cm/8.25in long. The weight of the paper is great for note taking (80gsm), but I'd use a heavier paper for correspondence (e.g., the 90gsm Clairefontaine tablet which has a full A5 sheet after tearing it off the glue binding). I don't get bleed through with any of the fountain pens I use (but I have mostly Fine or Medium nibs). Even so, I would not write on the back side--while there is no bleed through, the paper is translucent enough to see the writing on the other side, so you'd want to read a sheet with writing on both sides on something else, not holding a single sheet in your hand so light could get through it.

Spring for web notebook or get smaller version of this.
Lifetime Rhodia lover. I dislike the staple bound style. Paper is great, but this style makes it hard to write on the back of the page. Too expensive to only use half the available writing space. I would either spring for the web notebook style or get a smaller version of this for pocket carry and notes, depending on your needs.

Great paper.
For fountain pens, it is worth the extra money to get quality paper that won't make a mess out of a wet-nibbed pen. You can't beat Rhodia pads that use Clairefontaine paper. Ink pretty much pools up and dries no matter how much is there, no feathering. I have only found one or two inks out of the 70+ I have used that showed any feathering and those were extreme quick-dry inks that are made to soak quickly into paper. The only thing I hate about this pad is the margins. I hate that red line bullying me into writing to one side or the other. It is hard to find staple-bound pad without the margin line. I could only find the ring-bound pad in this same size and purchased it as well. I am free from the evil margin line at last!!

Aspettative deluse
