This is pure, good quality asafoetida which has not been mixed with any turmeric or wheat flour etc. It's asafoetida and nothing else, and is gluten free which is great if you have that dietary requirement.It's one of my favourite spices, which used sparingly adds a deep savoury citrus sort of flavour, an excellent addition to tadka dal and great in many other things.I bought this at the reduced price (around £6), and I would certainly reccomend buying it at that, though unfortunately the RRP seems very high. The seller may be taking advantage of the fact it seems to be the only pure asafoetida on amazon, and they are selling it in a nice quality, flashy jar.

Genuine product after very long search but I am glad to find this company. Aroma and taste is very yummy i made few dishes and I got overwhelmed as i missed having food cooked with hing. One more plus point is that it comes in a small airtight glass jar. I would definitely recommend this product. I am going to try few more spices as they have list of different flavoured spices.

I was intrigued because I had never tried this. At first I took advice and sprinkled it on humus - delicious. It has a tart citrus flavour, not as sharp as lemon juice but similar. I tried it as a rub on sea bass and it worked very well but I would imagine it would be marvellous with oily fish like salmon or mackerel to help cut the oil.

Container pleasing to have on show. Like the fact in small quantities for freshness.

Chose because isn’t a compound. First time using so can’t compare but happy with use to date. Packaging is an attractive addition as is the wooden spoon but not cheap

Packaged in a reusable glass jar with screw lid, Will keep well as you only require a pinch in the recipe I used.

We are new at using Sumac to cook with but have tried it on both beef and fish. Very interesting spice !

The product smells strongly of fenugreek seeds. It is not pure.I am allergic to fenugreek, had to dump it in the trash.

Hab mir das Produkt extra gekauft und mehr als die Konkurrenz gezahlt, weil ich 100% Asafoetida haben wollte und keine Mischung mit Bockshornklee! Auf dem Produkt wird als Inhaltsstoffe Asafoetida pulver und Bockshornklee Pulver (fenugreek seed) gelistet. Sehr ärgerlich die falsche Beschreibung hier im Text.

Il prodotto arriva in una bella confezione di vetro e si presenta come una finissima polverina bianca con un odore molto molto forte ma piacevole, tipo quello che sentì quando entri in un ristorante indiano per intenderci. L’ho aggiunto a fine cottura a varie zuppe, ma purtroppo non ha dato quella nota di sapore in più che mi aspettavo...🤷‍♂️ Ho provato anche a aggiungerne di più, stesso risultato. Strano, dato il forte odore mi aspettavo una nota speziata anche nel gusto. Mah.

Premetto che non conoscevo questa spezia ma avevo letto del suo vasto uso nella cucine di Yotam Ottolenghi ed ero ansiosa di provarla, ma al suo arrivo, francamente, il suo profumo l'ho trovato deludente. Anche il gusto è veramente minimo. Sono un po' perplessa.Per quanto riguarda la spedizione nulla da eccepire, il servizio è stato ottimo.
