Make Clay Charms

Well packed and very useful for 5-6 years old kids.

Very good product

Very poor quality clay that is all hardened up when opened. Unfortunately i had discarded my packaging bag etc ..so wasnt able to return it ...

Purchased for my 11 year old Neice - she loved it. Together with her little sister they started moulding the charms and did a fantastic job. Really cute charms, easy to harden up in an oven.

Useless!! Not recommended at all

Fun

Make Clay Charms Summary: This set has a nice range of different ideas to create things with. While it does involve some adult supervision, most kids can complete the first steps with molding the design ideas themselves. The array of colors are also appreciated and designing charms or different things for use is a fun thing for kids around 6-9 years old. My daughters enjoyed making these little crafts and it was an excellent and fun activity. Baking the items once they are molded doesn't take too long but this part can be fun for kids to watch from a distance when the items are cooking to harden. I have also used this similar type of clay from the art store using other activities and it definitely is a very unique and fun thing to do. This activiaty is best done with a group of kids and can be used even for a small group party for a birthday or a play date. Kids will definitely enjoy making this and be proud of their creation once it has been cooked and hardened. Pros: - Came well packaged and very nice box design - Price is decent given the quality of the activity and the cost of clay - Can be done as a parent and child activity / quality time - Many different unique ideas that can be made - Creative and good for child brain development Cons: - Requires an oven, most people should already have one Features A Canadian Toy Testing Council Children's Choice Award winner! Clay charms are all over the stores these days. Girls love their style, their mini-cuteness, and - best of all - the way you can mix-and-match them to express your personality. But charms can be pricey. Wouldn't it be better, we thought, to give girls a chance to create their own charms? Make Clay Charms features simple step-by-steps for more than 30 different designs - cute fruit, adorable animals, mini sweets, monsters - all picked with the help of our style experts (tween girls). Form your custom charms with the nine bright colors of clay, then bake them to permanence in an ordinary oven. Add shine with our specially formulated glaze and then attach your creations to the included bracelet. Any charms you're not using today can hang on the custom display rack, ready to be swapped in later. As long-time Klutz fans may remember, we already wrote the book on clay - two of them, in fact. The Incredible Clay Book and Create Anything With Clay sold a combined total of more than 1.5 million copies. That's a great track record, but we're confident this book will do even better. After all, third time's the charm. Rating: 1/10 stars (10 if not applicable) Price 9 Value 8 Quality of item 9 Overall satisfaction 9 The value of the Star feedback helps to indicate what areas which you may have concerns with matter. Some people do not care about the quality of an item or how long it takes to ship. Others may need items quickly and are primarily concerned with the value or price of an item. The overall satisfaction indicates that I am generally pleased with the item.

I was looking for activities to keep my grand-daughter entertained during her summer break (she'll be in fourth grade) and she had a lot of fun with this kit. I was a bit hesitant to buy a kit because I have often been disappointed when only one small project can be made, or it is impossible to make it turn out nicely or that after five minutes all interest is lost, or you need to buy a ton of other stuff..I am happy to say that this was not the case with this kit! This kit definitely gives good value for the money-the book is much nicer than I expected and shows exactly how to shape lots of different charms, and there are plenty of little screw-eyes and rings for attaching them to jewelry. There is only one bracelet, though (I think three would have been better considering the amount of clay that is provided) but okay, I'll just pick up a few more from the craft store...The blocks of clay are small, but there are quite a few color choices, and a surprisingly large variety of charms (very cute) can be made. The clay doesn't harden until it is baked at low heat (care must be taken not bake at too high a temp or for too long because of the potential for harmful fumes) and the directions for making the rather small charms, works, well--like a charm. Once she started improvising--making tiny figurines and pendants, it was a little harder to judge baking times because they were so much bigger and thicker than the charms. With my help, we managed to burn one batch (I guess the heads of her little statues were too close to the heat (oops, I wasn't too popular--luckily they can be painted!) and the next time, I guess they didn't bake long enough because they seemed a bit soft after cooling down--so we put them back in and they warped a little bit and the jewelry fittings pulled out (oops). I don't get asked to help very much anymore although I was asked to order a larger refill of clay! (they make glow-in-the-dark clay, too! that will be a surprise for next time!) Overall, this was a great purchase--many hours of fun for my grand-daughter and a great value, as well!
