M. Graham makes the best paints, a little goes a long way. Paynes Grey stays permanently in my Pallet because it is so useful
M. Graham makes the best paints. Just love this brand.... a little bit goes a very long way. Because they use a tiny bit of honey it is easy to re-wet what is in the pallet. Don't need to scrub at the dried pigment to reconstitute it. Not a real big deal but it is nice when working. The pigments they use are of excellent quality, deep color that is easy to mix into lots of water to lighten.Paynes Grey is so useful it lives in my pallet. Mixes with greens to deepen for shadows or somber evergreens. Takes the edge off of Thalo colors to make them more natural in tone. Works beautifully alone or with Ultramarine for stormy skys. It is my go to for making puffy clouds.

I tried to stop using the color after I ran out the first time and couldn't do it
In watercolor, Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna mixed together looks pretty similar to Payne's Gray, so at one point I tried to not use it and instead mix my own darks after my first tube of M. Graham Payne's Gray ran out. However, I've since repurchased the color and put it back in, simply because it is just too convenient of a color, and having to keep mixing Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna together was a giant pain in the butt. Payne's Gray is a cool black, and I use it a lot for darkening other colors while keeping a cool undertone.

Spend a little more and get the best! This basic set is an excellent starting point to enlarge on. The colors are so rich, blend beautifully, and retain their hues nicely. I use these and Sennelier colors together and it works out fine. The only glitch is that this set includes Alizarin Crimson. I'm trying to wean myself off all Alizarins, as they are not color fast. A Cadmium or a Quinacridone might be a better choice, but so many people love their Alizarins, it makes sense why M. Graham would include it.

Best watercolor paint hands down
And I'm not just saying that because I'm from Beaverton Oregon. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in watercolor. It's easy to use, it's incredible quality, and lasts a long time. 😍

Creamy color that spreads easily, mixes well little used for correct color value color. But most of all color doesn't harden. Stays soft from adding water when you come back to painting. Dissolves nicely, evenly, no Chuck's of undissolved paint. This is a plus.

Taking a class and this was recommended by instructor
Taking a class and this was recommended by instructor, she's right, very useful and a great addition to my few paint colors. Focusing on learning to blend colors.

Quality Watercolor Paints
I really don't know why I tried any other watercolors, M. Graham have always worked best for me, they hold up well over time, maybe its the honey! I have used some of my tubes for over a decade and they are still good to go, not all dried up and yucky.

So worth the money!
M. Graham paints are so lovely. Some of the best out there. I would put them up against any other brand (Daniel Smith, QoR, W&N) and they still shine. Good flow for this colour. I use Payne’s grey heavily in monochromatic portraiture so I need excellent lifting ability and this paint delivers! I will always use M. Graham paints, as I have never been disappointed with them yet. I squeeze mine and let them dry in a pallet and because of the honey as a binder they do take longer then most but that is not a detractor from buying this paint at all! I will recommend this to any artist out there. They are made in the USA (Oregon specifically) so they take the highest care to truly make such a lovely product. If you support small businesses, support this company!

Great Eco Tube!! Probably like it better than DS paints
Wow the quality of these paints are great. Theyre honey based, if I remember correctly, so they never completely dry when poured in a pan. Its super easy to pick up pigment and the colour is beautiful. The value is so much better than something like daniel smith.
