Great for Beginners
I used this book as my college textbook and I liked it. This book is great for beginning programmers as it explains the code very well, and it has examples to demonstrate what you learn. The only complaint that I had, but isn't enough for me o lower the rating, is that it IS for beginning programmers. I have prior programming experience, so the first few chapters in the book were rather boring as it went over the basic syntax for things that I already know.If you are looking to purchase this book and you do not have prior programming experience, then get it! If you do have prior programming experience, then the first 1/3 of the book will be a bit boring as it explains allot of the basic syntax that you will already know.I enjoyed the format of this book, and I look forward to purchasing and learning from other books in this series.

Yes, finally found the right book for an actual JavaScript beginner.
Yes, I finally found the right book! New to JavaScript, and don't already know another programming language? Do other books assume you know more than you do, even though they marketed their books for "everyone from beginners to experts?" Then get this book. It's for you. Don't be put off by the fact that this book has been used as a "text book" (sounds boring, right?). I really appreciated that the text usually explains every key idea three different ways. That really helped me in understanding some of the more complicated material.

Good for learning, great for research! Excellent explanations of topics.
I love this book! I wish I had it when I was taking JavaScript classes. It's logically laid out and explains most topics clearly. It has been good for reading through it and for researching topics as they come up. For the most part it has proven to be the best of about five books on Javascript I am referring to right now. I will be using this one for a long time.

Great product and good for the price!
This book is beneficial to me in terms of learning the basics of JavaScript and also I bought the second hand book for half of the original price and is really more than worth with regards to the amount of relevant content!

Don’t like the kindle version
Not sure I would recommend. Quite a few grammatical errors in this book. Kind of annoying especially when it’s in the codes itself. Also can’t copy and paste codes.

JavaScript: A Beginner's Guide, Fourth Edition
This is indeed a beginner's book. I like the assignments not to tough but they do show what is explained in the book.I gave it a 4 star rating because of the lists of procedures and methods. I found them to be most helpful even if the book did not explain everyone of them. I was able to get a lot of them to work. You will still need more instructions after this but it is definitely for beginners.

Helpful guide.
I got this book for a web development course I am taking. So far, it has proven helpful. It's easy to follow along and could be good for self taught individuals too.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! The code in the ...
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! The code in the book is extremely tiny and the DRM does not allow you to zoom in on the javascript code or even copy and paste it! This is ridiculous and another example of where DRM takes away basic functionality of a book!
