Perfect Reference Book
I sometimes buy small pieces of silver from the big internet site that everyone buys/sells on and to make my life easier I bought this book to help me understand all the marks that are typically stamped on pieces. This is a perfect size, concise and thorough reference book covering information on the hallmarks, assay offices and relevant makers, including some of the more obscure marks, that you'll need when buying silver, gold etc. Since buying this book a few weeks ago it has more than paid for itself in the information that I've gleaned from it..saved me making a few mistakes too! Although a bit pricey, in my book, it's well worth it!

very informative
I found this book very informative and easy to understand as a beginner in the finding and dating of Gold & Silver Hallmarks and would recommend it for anyone that wants to learn about Hallmarks in a not to complicated way. I was also very pleased with the service I received from seller.

Good general coverage of Hallmarks
Ok so this is not the most exciting book you will ever read but it is useful for finding out who made something, where and when it was assayed. I am sure it is not totally comprehensive as there does not seem to be enough pages for that and I saw one three times the thickness in the library, but for most people it will do the job as it covers the main assay offices and famous marks which is all most of us are interested in.

Knowledge of Hallmarks
Jacksons books on hallmarks are world renowned for accuracy and this one is the same. This book is a paperback/pocket sized edition and is easy to carry around with you. The book has every hallmark in it and I find because of its pocket size when I am out and about looking for items to buy the book is ideal identifing old and obscure hallmarks. One of my best buys to date, highly recommended.
