Quilt As You Go Reimagined: Clean. Simple. Modern. Paperback – June 20, 2012

I love all of Margeurita's and Sarah's books. I look at every quilt I want to make differently now and consider if it is a pattern I can use these QAYG techniques on. The directions are clear and easy to follow and the emphasis on having fun, instead of perfection, really encourages me to try it all. This book (Reimagined) is a fresh and modern approach to QAYG quilts. No more obvious grids around blocks! Mod Quad here I come!

Ms. McManus has removed all the unnecessary steps and made this as clear and concise as anyone could ask.I find books on quilting (etc.) frustrating when directions are enhanced with extra steps and just plain fluff..I can gladly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get down to the nitty gritty and see just how easy it is to quilt. OH, and the patterns are great, too!!Thank you Ms. McManus!!

This is a great book to do quick and fast quilts and not try and force large amounts of fabric through your home machine. The diagrams are clear and easy to understand.I look forward to trying this method as it gives a different measure to quilting.

Found this a bit disappointing as expected a new way of doing the quilt as you go and the instructions are not the best. If I hadn't already done this it probably would have been quite hard to follow.

I'm new to quilting. Before reading this book I just couldn't figure out how to put blocks together with binding strips after I quilted the blocks. The author's step by step instructions resolved all that and now I can quilt and join blocks on my home sewing machine to make any size quilts including bed quilts. There aren't many quilt patterns given in the book but the few that are there are relatively easy to make and teach the author's technique, which I believe is the book's main purpose.

I have made several quilts using the McManus techniques and I think they are amazing. I have always liked the quilt as you go method of quilting because it is faster and I'm not the type of person to spend a year on one quilt. In all my years of trying different ways of doing it, I never came up with her ideas. Genius. The quilts are beautiful and a lot of fun to make. This book is the only one you need if you like to "get 'er done", and still get rave reviews.

I'll start by saying I'm VERY patient when it comes to reading instructional books such as this. I read them, re-read them and focus a great deal of time being sure I understand the concept being taught. I was anxious to read this book as I've been learning & researching a lot about the quilt-as-you-go concept. I am often in a position for my job to write detailed instructions & processes so it was terribly disappointing when I started reading this book to find it terribly organized. I'm NOT one to write negative reviews but can't let this one go by. I feel terrible writing it because I know the authors must have put a great deal of time & effort into it and I so very much wanted to get a lot of out this book. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I felt bad and hope that over time, I may be able to get SOMEthing out of it. Nonetheless...The fabric cutting instructions were awful. They're all bunched up into paragraphs rather than easily organized in lists as all other cutting instructions in every other publication lists them. They made what was a simple process terribly confusing. I also found that the authors jumped around in their directions quite a bit.The samples used in the Modern Joining section used extremely busy fabrics and elaborate piecings. The photos don't even seem to be all from the same quilt... they appear to jump from one quilt to another. I cannot tell which fabrics are on the front, which are the back and which are the joining fabrics. There's no guide telling us which is which so following the photos is extremely difficult. The examples in this section (which is THE key section of this entire process) should have been done with simple patterns with clearly defined instructions indicating what were the front, back, and joining pieces.I also found it disappointing that the very first page of the book directs people to the writers' blog for assistance... "and if there's something in the book that is confusing to many people, we'll post a video that explains it better and shows what we are trying to convey." That pretty much says it all. If you're finding yourself receiving feedback from your readers that concepts are confusing, then you've not written nor illustrated it very well at all to begin with. Why write a book and then force people to go find your videos to understand a technique that they've just paid money to learn by buying the book?I was so looking forward to learning more from this book and all I got out of it was a great deal of disappointment. My search continues....

I've been a sewer for over 40 years and always wanted to quilt but, didn't think I could do it with my current sewing machine. These ladies will show you that you don't need anything special to complete a quilt. And, it's super easy!! I shared the info with my best friend and she's already made one and planning to keep going with them! I just LOVE that I can now quilt! THANK YOU!!

Really pleased with this book it gives me all the information I need to make a quilt as you project.

Me parece que la autora, tiene una gran capacidad para enseñar, pues explica paso a paso, cómo hacer las costuras, el libro tiene fotografías que ayudan a entender los textos. Y es bastante fácil y ameno el aprendizaje

Não gostei do livro. É desorganizado. Há uma mistura das técnicas com os trabalhos propostos. Não me ajudou muito a compreender e querer frealizar a técnica "quilt-as-you-go".

Un po' scarno come libro anche nell'impaginazione, qualche foto e qualche altro quilts in più non sarebbe guastati, niente di eccezionale...
