Moment Wide Angle Lens - 18mm Lens for iPhone Pixel Galaxy OnePlus Phones

The box looked like it was already open because the tab was pulled out. The lens was dirty because the card they put on top of it was rubbing against it and pieces of the card flaked off onto the glass. The packaging is not terrible but could be much better. They should just ship it with the cap on. Not sure why they don't. The lens itself is just like all the other reviews said. It is high end and the images taken on my Note 8 look very good. I posted a pic of my dog on a couch without the lens and one with the lens. The beore and after shots tell you all you need to know really. Installation is simple. The lens can be carried in a pants pocket, whipped out and installed in less than 30 seconds. No need to line up anything. That alone is worth getting these over clip on lenses. I also ordered their updated 58mm tele and the new anamorphic. The wide is totally worth the money. The only thing that sucks is that a 10% promo code was put up on Facebook a day and a half after I ordered them. My order was not completed because the anamorphic is on back order so I sent an email hoping they could hook me up with that 10%. I'll probably end up taking that $25 and using it for the gimbal counter weights they sell.

I purchased this lens to be able to use it at one of my daughter's cheer events and my other daughter's hockey games. For the cheer event, I was able to get the entire area of the mat and the shots came in clear. The lens is surprisingly good. For the hockey game, I still have to pan right and to get the whole sheet of but get the entire half of the rink without issue. The lens is solid and has a bit of weight but it uses quality parts so that is not much of an issue. It comes with a bag and lens cap for when not in use. Mounting the lens requires a phone case that is sold separately. It is a good case so worth the cost to protect your phone. Sadly the lens is too heavy for the DJI 4 Gimble. It kept releasing the motors to prevent damage. Since the DJI 4 is all automated there is nothing you can do to counterbalance it but that is for another review. Get the DJI 3 Gimbal and there are good videos on youtube that will make it work well with this lens.

I bought the case, a tele lens and this wide lens from Moment. The case and lenses are premium quality, the case is grippy without being too bulky. The lenses attach securely and deliver excellent picture quality as they are real coated glass. The lenses are small enough to pocket for going mobile. With a lens attached to my iPhone XS Max it added a bit of heft to the phone so I typically detached the lens when done using it. I took some amazing shots of the Singapore city skyline at night from the top of the Sands ‘surfboard’ observation deck that took no learning curve to achieve great results. The only caveat I can offer is that you must use the Moment app to use the lenses with a dual lens iPhone, or they won’t work. The native camera app doesn’t let you choose the lens, so you wind up with the lens obscuring the camera’s view. The app is an extra cost, and honestly Moment should let lens buyers have the app for free since you can’t use the lenses on a dual lens phone without it.

I liked the overall setup - the case, the lens, the little bag that the lens came with. The reason I take off one star is because of the fact that this case is very obviously "large", and expensive for what you pay for. An equivalent OtterBox case (which is thicker, and much more precisely cut than this one) costs roughly around 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the Moment case, without even considering the lens. The lens itself is great, but somewhat bulky. I wish there was a hard case that we could store it in instead of using the small bag that was included with the lens - the lens cap itself is plastic & feels flimsy, but it'll have to do, given that that's all I have. Keep all this in mind when considering I've only owned this for 2 days so far, and tested it for ~6 hours on a weekend. I'm not sure if this will stand the test of time, but I seriously hope it does. It seems good.

Thiis isnot cheap but it is a professinal grade& quality product. Solid metal housing and a nice big lens. I use my iphone 7 for lots of work related real esate photograph. Seems I could never get a whole room into a photo or get far enought away from a house. Have tried some cheaper wide angle / fisheye clip on lenses. Lens never stayed aligned and photos were badly distorted in corners. This is the right tool for the job. I can take sharp full room photos with NO distortion at all. The lens clips securely to the moment case and never gets misaligned. LOVE IT and will probably by a tele and super fish from moment just for fun.

About a year ago, my husband and I made the decision to retire and move to a different country. Since we were going to be doing more traveling and seeing lots on new things, I wanted to document, remember and share the life changing events that were about to unfold. After about a month of research into phone lens upgrades, and seeing positive reviews for Moment come up time and time again, I decided to give them a try. I gave myself a budget of $300 to begin and decided to go with the M-Series to get the most for my money. But, I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I learned that this phone came out with a larger camera sensor than previous generations and might not work with the M-Series. Many people on YouTube questioned the usability as well, and posted helpful ‘pros and cons’ videos. Being a novice, I felt the issues were minor and the M-Series would be a good starting point for my new hobby. The package I put together included the Moment Case, 18mm Wide, 58mm Tele, 10x Macro, the 1.33 Anamorphic, and some well-designed accessories to attach some 67mm lenses. “Checkout”… now wait! After about a week, I received the lenses. The accessories were shipped separately and took an additional week, seemingly coming from a different country. The tracking info provided was very basic, stating time, arrival, and departures. Everything, but the 18mm, arrived in pristine condition. I contacted customer service with the issue and received a response from Szabolcs the following day. I explained my issue, he asked for a couple of photos, and the issue was resolved! His response was kind, concerned, resolute, and easy! Customer service excellence! I have installed the lenses and played around a bit and the lenses are definitely a major upgrade over the basic phone lenses. And accessories are well thought out and masterfully constructed. I am very impressed! I can’t wait for some nice weather, so I can play with the lenses more. Thank you, Moment, for an excellent experience!

Camera: Pixel 2XL Ratio: 4:3 (12.2MP) Case: Moment Pixel 2XL Lens: Moment Wide V2 (18mm) Apps: Google Camera (native) & Moment App I purchased this lens due to the online reviews and sample images regarding edge-to-edge sharpness. The lens is very well built. The lens bayonet and the case work well together, and the lens is easy to install and remove from the case. There is some flexing at the case mount, which I have concerns with over time\use. I took a couple photos of subjects at approximately 2-3 feet. The results were satisfactory. I took several landscape photos, but the results were very poor (blurry), and prompted my attempts to contact Moment support (they never responded), and ultimately, the return of the product (case and lens). The lens produces images that have severe blurring at 45 degrees to the edges beyond 10 feet (an estimation). I even purchased the Moment app to experiment with the difference in quality, in the event that the lens required some post-processing algorithms. I shared my before\after lens photos with Moment. Did the case warp? Is the lens defective? I'll never know unless Moment is willing to work with me to resolve the issues and prove the capability of this lens with the right case on my Pixel 2XL (for which there are excellent sample images online). Purchase at your own risk. The reviews show the potential, but I could not reproduce anything close to those results.

I’ve had the Wide Lens for a few weeks now and I totally love it! I can’t believe how much more image I get in pictures and videos. The lens is really nice, got that nice hefty premium feel. And I love the case that it comes with. (I got the walnut case for my iPhone 6s+.) I put a wrist strap on the case and it’s the perfect combo with the lens. The mounting mechanism is what I love about Moment Lenses. I have a clip on lens, and it’s so annoying trying to center it. I lose so much time and it just becomes frustrating over time. But with this lens, I just line it up, twist, and I’m ready to go. Love how secure the lens is when I mount it, and the twisting motion and how it feels as it locks in is also super satisfying. I haven’t been so excited about an accessory before and it totally changes the way I use and think about my iPhone. I totally recommend it if you’re looking into taking better photos and videos. This is the way to go!
