This book helps explain and unravel the tangled web of New Age Beliefs and Practices
This book is very well written, easy to understand and follow. He shows how insidious the ways of New Age can envelope and brainwash a person to believe they are on the same par as God and nobody can help you with your problems but yourself. This book is a great relief to anyone following the useless path of New Age thinking. It is impossible to live a sane peaceful life ( I know, I tried) while trying to live according to the “laws” of their beliefs, It is like trying to nail jello to a wall…it just doesn’t stick. I am free from the trappings of these people who started all this collective evil energy. I can truthfully say there is nothing to be gained from the teachings they espouse, it ( New Age) is a never ending trip to nowhere, you must always achieve more. If you are stuck in the mind boggling lies of this unattainable way of life, read this book, it is an eye-opener.

A Journey Thru my past...
I was interested in what was wrong with Jesus calling so I bought the book. didn't find the time to read it..........My friend called up all excited because a friend had given her a copy of Jesus calling and it really spoke to her. I said, I would burn it, its not a good book. I tried saying that It had a lot of new age ideas in it and she said well maybe she could get something out of it. So I sent her Warren Smith's whole book. Anyway I wondered if he really was a good witness so I decided to buy this book. I usually buy books and wait for the right time to pick them up. this one I started reading right out of the package. I was right back in the exciting 70's on my own spiritual journey with every book being another piece of the puzzle to find God. About chapter 4, I said why am I doing this.......I'm a Christian; I don't want to go back there. Well, I kept reading..........I really saw why the only one who can reach new agers is God. without the grace, they won't ever get out of there because they have such pride in being really spiritual people while the rest of us are boring stupid Christians following stupid rules. All along the path were little warnings things that just didn't feel or sound right--the felling of spiritually being dropped on your head. Then one day the pseudo cult we were in told us to do something really impossible...........read the Bible.............we were obedient if dumb so we did. Took us about a year and we must have been the only ones who did it, but then we started asking questions! This was not at all appreciated and we were tossed out on our ear. We were no longer the elect destined to bring in the new age...........That's when the evil really attacked full force. We went to churches which we had been told were very boring and had lost the truth long ago. It was the most frightening time of our lives looking back. No one knew how to deal with us......Anyway the only tihing I found wrong with the book was that it ended and how did they deal with this stuff. Finally, after a year or two of countless attacks, Finally someone mentioned then I should burn all the stuff I had from the past as evil could alight on it. I burned books for three days and finally got some peace. It was a long a frightening journey and I wished I had had a guidespost along the way but I had to maneuver on my own. I wish I knew how he and his wife handled it. I honestly thought I was a Christian whose church had gone bad; then one day I found a book about getting out of the moonies. One book and I realized I was in a cult. Then I read about cults that led me finally to the beautiful side of evil which I devoured. All this was in the early 80's. A long time ago.............I am still very sensitive. Alarms go off in my head with bad doctrine. Once all my friends wanted me to go to a retreat day when I was suspicious of the leader, but it was my friends so I went.........the first meditation he said think of nothing.......I started getting a giant headache and walked out in five minutes..........my friends said they didn't get much out of it but I was really upset!!!!!!!. Anyway someday I hope he writes a book about getting all the way out and finding a new life. I love my church, I love Jesus but sometimes I really wonder why people are not more sensitive to really bad doctrine. So thank you for this book Warren Smith and please keep writing. Reading this reminded me of a TS Elliot poem--we shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploration will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. Thank you for my journey through the past..............

this is a great book
This author really helped me with my confusion of realChristianity and the new age. For years (in the 90's)I used to use self-hypnosis (Konicov) as well as sybliminal not knowing that it was new age which led me to other new age things like Marianne Williamson "Return to love" which at first I thought it was real because of someone I admired had the book. I would try to trash it and later on get suckered to buy another cd. I am free and am now a Christian but if it was not for apologetics and wanting to know the truth with reall authors like him as well as other Chrisitan authors like Eric Barger coming out of the new age I do not know where I would have been.

Enjoyed reading, but didn't "spook" me like it was supposed to
I enjoyed reading this story because the author was honest in revealing his experiences. it takes bravery to put yourself out there like that. I agree that following an esoteric spiritual path can lead to a lot of deception. There are lots of charlatans out there who preach formulaic alternatives to traditional spirituality, and a lot of them certainly have their own darkness that might not be easy to notice.I was raised catholic and have always had a personal relationship with Jesus/God, and I completely agree that when dealing with dark/malevolent forces, one should call on the name of Jesus for protection. That is a part of my spirituality, and that will probably never change. However, even after reading this book (which i ordered during a "dark night of the soul"' moment), I am not throwing out all alternative spiritulity out the window. I have never experienced "voices" or consulted with "channelers," and I would not trust some babbling psychic the way the author seemed to. I guess I've always been spiritual and can't really relate to the author being catapulted into a new lifestyleZ. "New Age" really is a dirty word these days, and I'm from a different generation (born in late 80's) that luckily avoided all of those narcisistic Californians and their workshops, books, videos, etc.i beieve, though, that there are many spiritual traditions that can lead you to God other than biblical Christianity. When you experience God in a mystical state, there is no denying the boundless mystery that can envelop your soul and transform your spirit, and that, to me, is the EXPERIENCE of God. When you walk your own spiritual path, you are bound to experience the reality of dark forces, and dark nights of the soul, but as a sporitual ambassador of God, you should learn to overcome them or overpower them, because FEAR will always lose to LOVE. That's our job in this life, to overcome fear and darkness. If renouncing all alternative spirituality and embracing a fearful but protective form of Christianity worked for the author, it will probably work for many others. As for me, though, I will continue to be a seeker, continue my own unique relationship with God, and will not limit my worldview to the Bible alone.

An excellent book
Warren takes us through his "spiritual life" of deception, to find the only true Saviour, Jesus Christ. He relates how calling on His name is more powerful than any other name under heaven. Sadly the church of today has forgotten its "first love" and is embracing this deception. The saving Gospel is not being preached in the majority of churches unfortunately, with eventual grave consequences. Our church is our Bible and a few tried and tested Internet sites - The Berean Call, Understanding The Times. Also look up Warren on www.warrenbsmith.There are also excellent You Tube teachings from these people, Dave Hunt in particular.Johanna Michaelson's , The Beautiful Side of Evil is a real eye opener - she can also be found on You Tube.Maranatha!

Bemerkenswert lehrreiches Buch. Absolute Empfehlung!
