Praying: Finding Our Way Through Duty to Delight

This book is a great approach to a lifestyle of prayer. Have read a few books that just left me wanting more. Packer makes you slow down and process and apply as you go. Very greatful for this book.

Should be required reading for every Christian! This is not just a book on prayer but on how to abide with God. I have found Packer difficult to read in the past but he and Carolyn Nystrom make a wonderful team in this work.

Praying is a wonderful book, no wonder, for one of the autors is dr. J.I. Packer, well known as a sharp, insightful theologian author. The texts he wrote in 'Prayer'are easily recognizable. They are, as is usual, helpful and brilliant. Crisply written, with deep insights into this intriguing subject: the art of praying. The flaw in the book is the cooperation with his coauthor, ms. Nystrom. Who tells lengthy pages about her own adcentures as a boyscout leader. Skip these pages, you won't miss much. The rest, dr. Packer's rest, is sheer genius.

The condition of the book is in good shape but was not prepared for voluminous notations, sloppy underlining, distracting markings throughout the whole book. Very disappointing. Not sure I can keep it.

I'm enjoying the book, but wasn't what I expected. It's worth checking out.

Different type of book re prayer

Book for thinking and doing

Over the last couple of years I have been looking to learn more about prayer and came on this book after reading a reference to it in a book by Tim Keller. I found it incredibly helpful - full of rich insights and truths. In fact, I found myself torn between wanting to read it slowly so I wouldn't miss anything, and - on the other hand - enjoying it so much, that I was eager to turn the page to get to the next bit.In fact, this is the most helpful book on prayer I have read so far...
