Great Little Whittling Tool
I absolutely love this fold-out whittling knife! With 6 different shaped blades, it’s perfect for any carving project. I keep it in my laptop bag, which I take everywhere, and whenever I have a few spare minutes or need to unwind, I pull it out for some quick whittling. It’s incredibly handy and portable, making it easy to carry and use on the go. I recommend picking up a leather strop to keep the blades sharp and ready for action. This knife is a must-have for anyone who enjoys whittling or needs a reliable tool on hand.

Whittle to not like.
Let me begin by explaining my background, and intimate familiarity with cutlery. For two and a half years of my life, I was apprenticed to a professional knife maker. He was also a member of the knife makers guild. He was known for his impeccable fit and finish of his blades. I say this, so you understand the weight of my words. I ordered this, because I broke the blade of the pocket knife that I found and was using for whittleing out wizard/gnome type heads. When I first examined the knife I was very happily surprised to see how clean and smooth the body of the knife appeared. The outside of the finish was far beyond the cost of the price tag. The only thing that I thought was a little sloppy, was the lateral movement in the blades when they are open. However, when working with them it was not noticeable. The main blade came with a pretty good edge. A quick honing ending with a 30000 grit Japanese water stone put a extremely sharp edge on the blade. After several hours of use, I barely even needed to run it across a stop to touch it up. Not only did this blade take an excellent edge, more impressively, it holds up! After finishing my owl. I decided to give the blade more of a challenge. I grabbed a piece of Osage Orange and began to cut. I was surprised with how well this blade went through the hard wood. More impressive yet is that the edge help up yet again. I have had to cut Osage with chainsaws. For those not familiar with Osage, I haven't encountered a wood that dulls chainsaws faster. You can not beat the knife for the price point. Also, I never whittled out an owl or skull before. I do think the the blade and rouges had something to do with it turning out pretty decent for a first attempt. The other edges on the knife all needed to be sharpened when I got the blade. This can prove a little tricky if you are not used to such things.

Sturdy knife for a noob.
First timer. So have no experience to go on. The knife seems sturdy and well made. A little flex in the blade, but nothing that concerned me.Donated the whetstone…tiny and chipped. Made a strop from some cheap leather scrap and bought some compound at the box store. Super sharp after a few passes.Followed a video and was able to carve a simple piece with the supplied wood.I imagine I’ll whittling away some winter hours with this.

Decent knife. Blade doesn't lock, so can be dangerous when carving. Fairly sharp, but dulled quickly.

Good carving tool!
It arrived well packaged and wrapped. The blades are sharp, there is a very good selection of tools. I saw one drawback, there is no locking mechanism. Otherwise it has a comfortable handle. I have arthritis and it felt good in my hand. The blades don't wiggle when fully open. It is indeed well constructed. The glove and thumb guards were too small for my hand. it would make a great gift for a child/grandchild! in my opinion, I can see myself taking it with me when I go fishing or camping. I think it definitely is worth the purchasing price and easier to carry than a canvas roll of tools.

decent carver
this knife is a good carry for whittling on the go, just hone it often. I don’t know how well it old do on harder woods since I use basswood mostly.

Excellent
I tried a version from a different brand first, and this one is superior. The different tools are sharp enough to cut wood out of the box and the angle of the cutting edges are perfect for my needs. Pulling each tool out is smooth and none are stuck.
