Lego mad grandson loves this
OK - if there is a Lego fan in the family then they are going to be interested in this. If that person likes "Despicable me" then they are going to want this. As I have a Lego mad grandson this was a no brainer really and he does love it. This is an intricately detailed Lego item so intended for slightly older rather than younger I guess. It has movable parts in so that will add to its appeal. It seems likely it also adds to the price and for me this is a bit pricy at 50 quid.

Really appealed to Grandson age 11
This was a Xmas gift to my Grandson. He was really pleased with it and started making it 2 days after Christmas! Enjoyed the subject and although quite fiddly he made it that day. Now takes pride of place in his bedroom! Would recommend.
