Write and Draw your own comics

First I ordered a blank comic strip book for my 10 year old nephew but it was so dauntingly blank and gave no clues as to how to get started. This one though is perfect. The first sections are devoted to easy drawing tips, with practice boxes; then there is info on creating characters and dialogue, with practice boxes, and by the latter half of the book, there are the blank pages where the imagination can turn loose. There are stickers in the back to use if wanted, like ones that say "POW!" or "Groan" or "Whooa!" It looks very engaging and exciting for a kid to explore his or her artistic and storytelling possibilities!

I now have two of these books. I bought one for my son, and my other son was so enthralled with it, I bought him one too! This book does a great job giving creative prompts and teaching HOW to make the different parts of the comic strip. This book is really sturdy too! It is designed for kids to be able to carry it around without damaging it through normal "kid use."

We have now bought two of these for our 10 year old son! HE LOVES THEM! The book gives prompts and ideas, but also allows lots of creativity. It is perfect for a child just beginning in writing stories or wanting to explore the world of writing comics. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up buying him a couple more of these with as much as he loves them! He said that one of his favorite things about them is that they help him to write better stories and comics. Those little prompts and pointers really do make a difference! And he works so hard to make his writing look great and that has helped his penmanship!

I bought this for my 9-year-old, artistic, comic-loving boy. It looks like a lot of fun, and he is very excited to use it for our upcoming homeschool year. It looks like a great way to make writing more fun and engaging, especially for those kids who may not particularly like writing. It definitely seems more geared toward elementary-middle school age.

I have to say, I am impressed with the quality. Maybe my expectations were low, but we are very pleased with this purchase! We absolutely love the 'tutorial' bit in the front. Very informative! My 10-year-old and I are plotting out our first story together. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest, or a kid into comics, superheroes, storytelling, or art.

This made a terrific gift for my comic-creating kid!

I gave this to my son for his 8th birthday along with a few old comic books for inspiration. He is enjoying it. I have looked through it and noticed that he has already filled in a few pages. It is nice as it guides you, gives ideas but also lets you create your own work!

love this book, the book is great and easy to follow and teach with this.

This is so well written and my son was so excited about it. I would say it's ideal for kids 7 to 11 years old.

The media could not be loaded. I used to do comics by myself And I just used to draw stickman. I used to do it alone and did not get much ideas.Then I decided to order itand when I saw it was amazing. I gave this a 4 star rating as the only problem I have with this book is that after half of the book another half I just have to draw comics for 4 to 5 pages for each topic.

Great variety of activities and lots of helpful advice easy for a child to follow up on. Good amount of story starters for when an idea is needed but also free space for own expressions. Quite a few pages of stickers included at the end! Really pleased with this purchase, I think my son will get a lot of use out of this book. He can hardly put it down and is inspired to improve his own comic-creating skills even though he thought he already knew everything there is to know about comics.
