For an Inland Waterways 'newbie' like me I cannot imagine a better resource. I devoured the first 36 pages which informed me an everything I need to know from choosing a boat, to getting qualified, to new VHF rules and regs, to boat preparations etc. The chapters on each country will become go-to guides when thinking about routes, plans and timetables. The publication is entertaining, informative, and very well written. I particularly appreciated the different boat stories by experienced cruisers and all the hyperlinks, which short-cut years of making mistakes and provide links to the best on-line resources. I am sure that it will be a bible, converting those of us uncertain whether to take the plunge, into enthusiastic beginners. Even the photos are fantastic and just themselves are a marvelous motivator. It is obvious how much time and effort has gone into its production, well done.

I only wish this book had been available when I first started cruising the European Inland Waterways. Essential reading for anyone contemplating the thousands of miles of inland cruising. Highly recommended.
