Excellent
Nice product of high quality which some or not. It's up fast on both top and bottom. No stick service works good without spraying it.It's small space saving but still grills two sandwiches.I tried grilling string french fries and it worked fine. You just have to make sure what your grilling is thick enough so that the top of your food will touch the grill plate, obviously.

First time using this. I bought good butter cheese and bread
The media could not be loaded. I made three grilled cheeses after the first! This contraption is amazing, works sooo well and evenly toasts the bread.

Simple device, works great
What can I say about two pieces of metal that come together around a sandwich. It's a super-simple device that works. The clean-up has been trivial, even cheese barely sticks to it. It can be a little bit of a challenge to get the hinge together (the pins have to to in at the same time, there is no wiggle room), but with a little practice I don't think it will be a problem. I've made 6 or 7 sandwiches with it so far with no issues at all.

No Need to Pull Out The Big Skillet for a Quick Sandwich
Growing up my family did a lot of camping and one of the essentials (according to us kids) was something we referred to as the hand-pie maker. Every night by the campfire we had a devise like this sandwich maker (except it was smaller and round) where we put in 2 slices of white bread with a spoonful of pie filling in the center and we'd toast it over the fire. This sandwich maker is considerably bigger, about the size as typical brand name (not bakery size) white bread. It's perfect if you have a late night craving for a grilled cheese or hot deli turkey sandwich. I like that the two halves of the sandwich maker come apart not only because it makes washing up afterwards easier but also because you can use the two halves as small fry pans for maybe a scrambled egg on one half and a sausage on the other half. Unlike the old hand-pie maker, the crusts won't be cut off and the edges sealed unless you use the really large bakery bread slices. The only critique I have is that I wish the handles were a little longer to keep my hand farther away from the hot burner. Recommended.

Stove-Top Sandwich Toaster
This item arrived exactly as pictured. This unit could be useful for hot sandwich making if you do NOT have a countertop oven-broiler-toaster-pizza maker to toast your sandwiches, or panini maker. You have to place this toaster on top of your stovetop and heat it until the bread browns/toasts on one side, then flip the unit over to toast the other side of the sandwich. This item is not very large, so it will only accommodate medium-size bread slices. It's also not very deep, so you cannot make thickly-stacked sandwiches. The pictures in the Amazon ad of really-thick grilled sandwiches are misleading. You could, however, make thick ones by separating the 2 halves of the unit, placing 1/2 of the sandwich on one half of the toaster, and the other 1/2 sandwich on the other half of the toaster, and heating them on your stovetop, then place the sandwich together.I have an electric panini sandwich maker with has an adjustable hinge between the top and bottom to accommodate thick sandwiches. It's also wide enough for large-sized bread slices. This is a much better arrangement than the Cididu Hot Sandwich Maker. But, of course, the panini machine is more expensive. For the price, the Cididu Hot Sandwich Maker is OK.
