I'm 41 and I've never had real issues with my scalp. This might be a long review, but I hope the read is with it to someone. I can only speak to how this shampoo worked for my problem, but here's the honest to God truth...I noticed bumps forming on my scalp over the last 4 months. They weren't itchy and I didn't notice any dryness. I asked my hairdresser about them bc they were now becoming something I was becoming self conscious about. She attributed them to using the same shampoo for a while and recommended switching it up and provided me with a list of shampoos. She also said something about a scalp treatment with mint or rosemary or something like that (I can't remember honestly) that she said would tingle and feel really good. I was super excited for a possible solution. Now at this point, I was also noticing that I was picking at the bumps, causing scabbing; gross, I know. Well, I switched up my shampoo and after a couple weeks, no change. In fact, bc of my obsessive picking, those scabs were now sores and actually bleeding a ton. My husband was horrified at what I was doing to make a bad situation worse.I hopped on trusty ol' Amazon and started looking up treatments for scabs and crap like that. Of course everything for psoriasis and other chronic issues popped up, but not having dealt with anything like this except for the last few months, I was a little overwhelmed with all the options.I found this product and for whatever reason, decided to pull the trigger and purchase it. The price was fair, it seemed to cover a bunch of scalp issues, and the reviews were encouraging.It arrived to my house 4 days ago. I did my first wash with it the day it came. Fast forward 3 days in a row of using it and my scalp is almost completely healed!! I'm not blowing smoke, getting a kick back from the company, or is someone that has a stake in the shampoo game. I am just genuinely relieved, happy, thrilled, and all the other things that when literally after only 3 washes, my scalp was incredibly improved, probably back to 95% normal. I'm finding there is nothing to pick which of course had also helped the healing!It says no scent, but I honestly think it kind of smells like chocolate lol. A little goes a long way. I used about a 1 in circle on my palm and it lathered nicely. There is no weird residue or feeling to my hair. I left it on my scalp for about 2-3 min as it suggests. I'm so impressed with the quality of this shampoo and how it truly helped me!I really hope my experience may help someone, but if this is a hail Mary type of purchase like mine was, this is where you should start!!!

To the people who said this shampoo helped relieve their itchy, dandruff scalp when other shampoos began failing - THANK YOU!!!!! For a long time I found success with ketoconazole shampoos during scalp irritation flare ups, but this winter for some reason I could find no relief for the itch/scalp ache. Thanks to the reviews of others I purchased this and FINALLY found relief. A little goes a long way, the smell isn’t strong, and it also cleans my scalp of any greasy residue build up. Any raised irritated follicle bumps are also gone!! Fancy smelling ingredient and cutely packaged shampoos need not apply - this one ACTUALLY gets the job done

My wife has been using this Neutrogena T/Sal shampoo along with the Neutrogena Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine shampoo, and she's really happy with the combination! She's been dealing with some scalp issues lately (a bit of dandruff and some itchiness), and this shampoo seems to be helping a lot.It's got salicylic acid in it, which is supposed to be really good for scalp conditions like dandruff and psoriasis. She says it's definitely helped to reduce the flakiness and itching, and her scalp feels much healthier overall.It's not the most luxurious shampoo in terms of lather and scent, but it gets the job done. And for the price, it's a great value. We've always trusted Neutrogena as a brand, and this shampoo definitely lives up to their reputation. It’s the best I’ve found for controlling my dandruff—with my naturally oily hair and skin that's prone to rosacea. I recently started using a soft silicone scalp brush along with it (something I’d never heard of until a few weeks ago), and the combo has really helped. Used together, I have fewer breakouts and no more piles of dandruff on my shirt. I use t/sal 3 times weekly. I may try Wal-mart's Equate generic version of t/sal, since it's much cheaper, but this works so well that it feels worth the price—even for someone as frugal as I am.

I used it for the first time last night and I am VERY HAPPY with the results! I had problem with itchy dry spots on my scalp sometimes I would get tiny little bumps that I would of course pick at and it was to say the least miserable. I chose to try this after it was suggested by someone else who had similar issues, I really didn't have the highest of expectations as I've tried so many different things over the years but it was fairly inexpensive so I figured what could it hurt. I will have to say I am pleasantly surprised with the results my hair is very soft, it feels extremely clean, and my scalp has not itched one time! It's unscented which was also a plus because some of those special shampoos you get like the tea tree ones and the ones for dandruff usually have a very unpleasant smell. This does have a slight smell to it but after you rinse it out and use conditioner it doesn't leave any sent behind. I will definitely be purchasing this again. I will update this review if anything changes.

I've started incorporating this shampoo in my curly girl routine as my once a month clarifying wash. Especially during the winter, my scalp tends to be very dry, tight, flaky, and itchy. I know it's time to clarify when my scalp feels uncomfortable (even right after washing) and my curls don't hold their shape as well. This shampoo immediately gets rid of the itchiness and flaking and essentially "resets" my hair. Curl products become much more effective, and my curls come back to life. And as someone who's sensitive to fragrances, I very much appreciate the lack of smell to this shampoo. Don't think you have to invest in special, expensive clarifying shampoos for curly hair -- this does the trick! :)
