Sturdy and Smooth: A Beginner's Take on the Camera Tripod
As a beginner photographer, I wanted to find a tripod that wouldn't break the bank, but still deliver solid performance. After much research, I settled on this reasonably priced gem, and I couldn't be happier with my choice.I use a Sony ZV E10, a lightweight mirrorless camera, along with an external microphone and a Sigma 16mm lens, all fitted into a metal cage. This setup weighs around 1.2 Kgs, but to my surprise, this tripod handles it with ease. The build quality of this tripod is outstanding. It's quite bulky, which works to my advantage, as I prefer something sturdy that keeps my camera firmly grounded. I never worry about it toppling over with a slight shake or in gusty winds. One of the highlights is the fluid head, which makes pan movements incredibly smooth. I heard some concerns about fluid leakage, but luckily, I haven't encountered any such issues, even with my daily use for over a month. The legs are just as sturdy, and I can extend them up to a height of about 5.5 ft. Even at its maximum height, the tripod remains impressively stable, showing no signs of tipping or wobbling. It's a relief to know that it can adapt to uneven surfaces thanks to its rubber feet. One small observation is that while the legs are made of metal, the three base strips connecting them are plastic. It's uncertain how durable they will be in the long run, but for now, they seem to hold up well. Additionally, the height adjustment clips are of good quality, adding to the overall reliability of this tripod. There is also a hanging clip on the bottom but it is also made out of plastic so I will not recommend hanging heavy objects onto it.Another standout feature is the quick-release plate. It's incredibly useful and secures my camera in place with a firm grip, saving me precious time during setup. All in all, I'm delighted with this tripod's performance and build quality. It's perfect for a beginner like me who wants a dependable and reasonably priced option without compromising on stability and smooth pan movements.

Does the job pretty well!
There are options like kodak, benro, simplex entry level ones within 2.5k price. They do not vary much in terms of quality. Most of them are pretty light weight of within 2kg range. For chosing any of them, see the height, weight and the type of head required. They have similar specs as well.Coming to this one, I am quite happy to be frank. Took it (vct 880) for dSLR long exposure and landscape photography.1. Height: It reaches nearly 6 feet while extended so that I don't have to bend while focusing minutely in a distant landscape or stars. If one is shorter, can easily go with 660 model of this one or other brands. Those reach nearly 5.5 feet while extended.2. Weight: It's about 2.1 kg, and heavier for its competition. It will hold up against wind, particularly in the mountains. It also comes with hook at the bottom of the central column for added weight.3. Built quality: Feels good in hand. Matt black in color. Comes with a mobile pods for better levelling on uneven surface. Also quite sturdy with the clips closed in extended position with the camera. There are rubbber grips on the legs for heat insulation and better grip.4. Holding the camera: It holds quite well both the 18-55 and 70-300 kit lens, and any prime lens when attached with the body. But for tele lens, do fix it with lens holder, and not with the camera body.5. Handy features: Quick release function (not very convincing, rather fiddly, but does the job like it should).Fluid heads for 3 way adjustment are not super even, and there is an undue and uneven resistance at the begenning of movements. This won't affect still photo/video takers. But for professional videography, it will annoy the shot. There are two spirit head bubbles for levelling the pod.6. Made it China: None of the tripod brands produce these here. Most (if not all) of them bring these from China, and rebrand it. Osaka/Sonia is an Indian brand a (lthough they import it from China), so bought this one. If not this one, I would have gone for Benro 880 (not Indian).7. Verdict: Although written 'professional' on the pack and description, this is NOT. Just a better entry level tripod with all the necessary functions. Professional tripods will cost more than 10k, and they are imported both a product and a brand. And if you are a professional photographer, you will not need to read this review, and you know what you are looking for.For mobile photographers and vloggers, get any of the entry level one with functions that suit your need. None of them will make a difference, believe me.For ones looking for professional videography, wait till you save more money to buy an expensive one. From beginners to semi-pro photographers, vloggers (both mobile and dSLR, and not on the move) and videographers at the beginning and on low budget, IT WILL SERVE YOUR PURPOSE QUITE WELL.PS: I got this for ₹2299 (vct 880). One can go for Benro 880 model for similar price. Happy clicking. Have a good day.
