Ok, first off, I'm so bad with plants; but I keep trying. I think it's because I pay too much attention to them; so, I end up over watering them to much. I saw that there's an option to have self-watering pots, & that was intriguing and sounded perfect for this non-green thumb, busy as hell person. I've started with herbs, because they like moist soil, which these clearly provide. If you have plants that like to be barely touched with water (more than you think, & yeah, I have some of those), this isn't going to be the best choice. I liked these because of its size. The depth was what my herbs need and the width allowed more then one in the pot. They are also the right shape for people who have window sills. With the dirt, stones, water and plants, it wasn't all that heavy. I enjoy the water hole for refilling, because it would be rather annoying to take the plant insert on/off every time it needed refilling (would be really annoying if you didn't have the water peck-hole to check the level, but you do so rock on). If you want to take them apart, it's not hard. I put plant food pellets in there, it's not hard to do, if you just set it on something that allows the string and roots to hang. My plants are doing great. Was so happy, I ordered another set.

.. which it was intended for. The water level indicator helps a lot to kinda gauge water need, but sticking your finger in the soil to feel it wet works the same. I do not refill the water unless it's almost out. It's fairly easy and light to pick up the top with soil and add water. But what I did is put a straw in one of the middle hole (where the string go through) and use it to refill water using a funnel before adding the soil. It works well from my opinion. It also does not take a lot of space, and it can be rearranged, moved elsewhere around because it is lightweight. The drainage hole I have not used yet but it's there. The price is fair, shipping is fast, packaging could use a little more buffer. But I'd definitely buy more soon.

I like the size and the material. However...The package didn't include the 1 bag of clay pebbles (2.2 lb) which is listed in the product specifications; see below. Kind of disappointed because now I have to go find a replacement!! So DARN Annoying. The planters came damaged, both were completely cracked on the bottom and useless. The packed box was in tact and didn't have any dents so when I opened the box, I was taken aback and dismayed that BOTH not just one planter were completely cracked and broken on the bottom so I can’t use them. Not sure if arriving damaged is any indication of sturdiness. Returning items as damaged. Wish I had a better experience and was able to give my succulents new homes.

I ordered 2 of these and was very pleased with their sturdiness. They are attractive and exactly as described. There is also a short instructional video for their set up for plant challenged people like myself! I had a question which the company answered promptly.

I wanted to make a vegetable garden inside my apartment, at the dining-room window. The dept of this planter is perfect. I planted Mint in one of it, and in the others I planted Basil and Parsley. I also have a glass one with green onion. The best of this planter is that I can travel for one week and when I come back my plants are well.

Product could definitely use a 2nd set of holes for the wick, it arrived with 3 wicks for 2 pots which is a bit odd.Idk why they put leca, but it's a nice to have thing for me so I'm happy with it.

Only just planted some herbs, so can't say if it works or not but planters look really good and would recommend to others.
