Big upgrade from using straws
I would like to start off with the fact that I originally used straws attached from one end to another by just cutting off one end at an angle and inserting it into the other end. The straws were not too great as they were flimsy and worked as a temporary measure for keeping my floating plants in place but not a long term solution for sure. Then comes this little floating plant corral kit which should and is a much better upgrade than my DIY (albeit I got my inspiration from YouTube videos). So what I learned after using this kit for a while is that it is more than plenty for me to corral off my floating plants on a section of my 50g planted fish tank and it did not take much to install it correctly and in place. The ability to not have to adjust the corral when water eventually evaporates and drops the water level of the fish tank is pretty nice touch. The tube is easily adjustable and work with. The downside of course on all this is that it is quite visible if you don't have a very large planted tank (luckily I do and it gets well hidden by my Java Ferns). I do think that if you plan to use this in a much smaller tank such as 20g or smaller this might be a little large and out of place and something with a smaller tube diameter and without the adjustable floating aspect of it so that it takes up less space and looks nicer. Overall a good purchase and do not have any issues recommending this to others that are looking for something similar for their larger planted tanks.

Great floating small plant corral.
Using as 2 small corrals. Keeps plants in place, with . Minimal pruning

Great for blocking off a corner, but cheaper alternatives for rings
Pros: Since this is made of a malleable tubing, you can adjust the rings to the size you need by cutting it. Adjusts to the height of your water level.Cons: The tubes and secure attachment to the walls of the tank may be just too large for a 10 gallon tank or smaller if you want something more subtle. Also, the tubing will not make a perfect circle. The tubes are wide but flat so it really doesn’t look too big bc of the way I twisted them. I would say if you need a ring around your filter to block off your floating plants from the running water, this is great. The parts that secure to the walls were larger than I expected, but I got used to seeing them in my 10 gallon. However, if you just want floating rings around your tank, you could really just make them yourself with airline tubing and it would be the same.Note: I transferred my floating plants to another tank, but I promise it gets its job done. Because of the wide-ness of the tubing, I think it would do great blocking off dwarf water lettuce.

Not worth it
Not worth it. The ring works fine, but that's it. If you plan to use this as it's used in the picture, buy something else.

Easy way to separate and protect aquarium plants
In my aquarium I have hornwort and I have duckweed. The duckweed is invasive and killed my last batch of hornwort. This divider prevents that from happening. It's such a simple idea, but it's really effective. It could also be used to just keep some surface area clear of plant if preferred. I love it.

Good
Looks okayish, but kinda weird to set up and takes up space. It does do its job okayish though and that’s what matters to me. Plants do escape though the holders which can be annoying

Keeps my tank tidy with minimal effort
A thick plastic hose containing air is loosely connected to two rods suction cupped to the sides of the tank. The hose slides up and down the rods, depending on the water level and makes a sort of fence to prevent the spread of floating plants into less desired areas of the tank. It's a brilliant idea, honestly. In theory this looks like the perfect solution for containing duckweed in particular and keeping it out of places like the tank filter. But I've found that merely adding water to the tank can allow the hose to get stuck on both rods and then nothing hinders the spread of floating plants across the entire surface of water. So that's something to keep in mind when adding water to the tank, I guess.Installing it was pretty intuitive, although I appreciated the included visual instructions. Before I installed this little fence, the duckweed took over completely and was blocking the light from my other plants. It was harder to feed my betta, who would have to search for his floating food. I think $12.99 is a pretty fair price for something that keeps my tank tidy (with a minimal bit of fiddling every now and again).Update: Deducting a star because the hose hardened and stopped rising and falling with the water. Pretty sure the reason for the hardening is the presence of a heater in my tank, which is not currently mentioned in the product description as a possible issue. If you keep a heated tank this is not the solution for you.

Excellent product.
Excellent product. The thicker tube helps it float and keeps duckweed from over top or under thanks to the fitting component that floats.
