Excellent for our 9yr old, although not without some quirks
It's a brilliant device for our daughter who makes her own Spotify playlists. This has opened a new world for her and she loves it. Usability from her perspective is dead simple and air tight, without issue, as it's uncomplicated and simply does what it's intended to. However for the administrator, that is, the parent, it's quirky. As others have said the software on the phone and synch experience is glitchy and slow. Firmware updates never complete or synchs go on and on and it's unclear what's happened. Bluetooth headphone volume control doesn't work with expensive Sony noise cancelling, but works fine with wired headphones. If you're patient and indulge the fact that this isn't an apple device (remember the iPod nano? ) then you'll love it. If you struggle with technology and "yet another app" then maybe wait until they've got the bugs worked out. It's also expensive for what it is. Still it's a brilliant idea and fills a void in the market. And the nightly auto synch / playlist update feature is brilliant. Highly recommended if you have a kid who likes music.

Updated review. Wish I’d never bought it.
Updated review April 1, 2025Well, this little device has turned out to be one of the worst purchases I’ve made. I bought it for my autistic teen son, because music is his security blanket. You need to know how vital it is that he has his music, because he cannot function without it when we are in unfamiliar surroundings or there is a different plan in his daily schedule. Music keeps him regulated. And it eases the stress on me, his caregiver and mom. This device only worked well for a few months, then it would randomly stop working. The clip on the back came off, which made it difficult to keep track of the device. Customer service sent me a new one free of charge, which was appreciated. But the “broken” days are more frequent than the working days. I’ve had no end of trouble with it, and we take exceptional care of it. I’ve done all the things customer service has told me to do, and nothing makes it work consistently. It is truly an awful product. And my son is having more raving meltdowns because we cannot anticipate when it will suddenly stop working. So we are on the hunt for a different music device (one without a screen, because he is screen-addicted).I wish I could give more! I doubted this little thing, but it’s a powerhouse. Got it for my teen ASD son who has a screen addiction. Up til now, he used my phone to listen to his Spotify playlist, which he’d tell me to switch up (I played DJ). I wanted him to have more control over his music, plus I wanted my phone back.Ordered this before our vacation, and it worked beautifully.Pros:Holds multiple playlistsConnects to SpotifyClip on back to attach to your clothing or bagNo screenSimple buttonsCharges quicklySeveral hours of play on one full chargePlaylist upload is quick and easyCons:Very tiny and easily misplaced if not carefulIt’s basic and easy to use. Reminds me of the old iPod shuffle.

After One Year Review!!
I’m taking the time to write this review because I strongly believe this little device isn’t getting the credit it. I bought this for my nine-year-old son who is now 10 looking for a screen free way to listen to music I remember how important music was when I was his age and being a screen free parent in this day and age is still very important to me. I love it but most importantly he still loves it. Yes you do have to reconnect it every 30 days but it’s as easy as plugging it in to charge. It takes no more than 2 minutes. We stick to one playlist and wired headphones because of the other reviews and it’s been great.Haven’t tried to bother with multiple playlists or Bluetooth headphones, because why fix something that’s working? Parents, do it, I’m buying my other two sons one this year.

It is what it is...
TLDRPros- lightweight- good battery life- plays my spotify playlist offline- easy to use when songs are loaded- looks niceCons- feels cheap- the app sucks- weird limitation that each playlist can have 500 tracks max- can be janky at timesSo just like all the other reviews your results may vary. I personally really like my mighty. It's very lightweight and the perfect device for me on my long jogs as I don't want to carry my phone or burn the battery life on my smart watch to play my spotify playlist. The device itself is fine, it does feel pretty cheap as it's made entirely out of light flimsy plastic and the clamp on the back is a little weak but it works. Just don't expect an ipod shuffle level of quality. The battery does last pretty long. On my longest outings, roughly 4 hours, it hasn't died on me once as long as I've charged it beforehand. The fact that it uses the audio jack to charge is strange to me and I'd have personally liked to have a usb c port but it works.Just like most of the reviews, the worst thing about this device is its companion app that you NEED to use for the device to work. When I first got my mighty the app did not support android 14 and yeah my phone could not connect to my mighty at all. Not sure if this has been updated but for the price you'd hope that their software was up to date. Luckily I had my old phone that ran android 12 and that seemed to work just fine. The process of downloading a spotify playlist is pretty long. I think my 500 songs took almost an hour to download on the device. Also the limit of 500 songs per playlist on the mighty is weird to me. I'm not sure why I need to separate my playlist into multiple playlists because of the number of songs when it says it supports up to 1000 tracks, but only if they are separated into multiple playlists? I did have a weird glitch on my device once where during my jog, when I ran the track started to speed up and then when I stopped the track played at normal speed. It was fixed when I turned the mighty off and on again but it was very strange. So it is pretty janky and for the price that's a pretty big issue, but, I'm personally glad I don't have to carry my phone on my runs anymore. However, if you want to still buy one I might recommend waiting for a sale and probably expect some jankiness.
