GA Headset to PC/Flight Simulator Adapter

I just purchased this headset. I didn't know until I got it that it requires a 9V battery. When I finally found a 9V battery and plugged it in it did not work. I can hear through my headset but the microphone side of the jack doesn't work.I called this company to get help with their product, however no one answered; not even voicemail. So I can't even return it. worst $60 I've ever spent!

Works, but eats a 9 volt battery every few days. A simple switch or automatically turning off when no mic audio is detected should have been a requirement.

The unit works great, however, it seems that the mike (and 9V battery) is live as long as the simulator is running. Thus, the battery wears out very quickly and disables the microphone if you don't turn the program off (I use X-Plane 11 mostly). I would welcome a way to turn it off when not using it, even when the simulator is running, as I don't use the microphone to much.

I have just two complaints about this thing... first off they didn't include a notch in the battery compartment cover to pass through the cable for a 9v power adapter. Second... because the case is made of a heavier plastic... it was more difficult to make my own notch than anticipated. That's a good thing for something that will surely be knocked around quite a bit.
