SEAFLO Marine 12V Reversible 8 GPM Self-Priming Impeller Bilge/Ballast Pump Review
This pump is solidly built with a nice, hefty feel, reflecting high-quality construction. It offers a great flow rate, significantly outperforming the diaphragm pump it replaced. Maintenance is much easier as well, and the compact design is ideal if space and weight are important considerations. While the pumping volume is higher than a diaphragm pump, it doesn’t move liquid as quickly as a centrifugal pump. However, its self-priming feature is crucial for my application. With reasonable pricing and a 4-year warranty, this impeller pump delivers check all the requirements for my application.

Works great
The pump works great. It was easy to install and it solve my problem at a fraction of the cost of a direct replacement. The original pump as well over $500 and I got this one for 120 something dollars. The only complaint I would have is that when it arrived, I checked it out and it seemed to be missing in O ring which I replaced. Other than that this pump worked great.

Retorque faceplate before using
I installed this pump and when I turned it on it blew a fuse after making a buzzing sound. I removed the faceplate which was difficult as all the screws were over torqued and retorqued it and all is well. This pump never tested at the factory as the say it was. Now I am having trouble having much faith in the thing as I wonder what else installed improperly.

Good Gallon Per Minute Pump
The construction of this pump is great being Stainless Steel and Plastic for the wet environment it works in. And in that environment this pump will grab the water as it is a self priming pump and move it out at up to 8 Gallons a minute. That is a good rate for a normal boat that is not swamped and sinking. Back this pump up with a good activation switch and you have a good bilge system. But when it comes to that, I always doubled up and had a back up or double acting system just in case. But this pump is well made and you should get many years of use out of it.

Comes with a 4 year warranty.
SEAFLO Marine 12V Reversible 8 GPM Self Priming Impeller Bilge/Ballast Pump. You cannot go wrong with seaflo pumps. They have a 4 year warranty, even if you lose your receipt they will still honor the 4 year warranty, they will just go by the manufacturing date stamped on the pump instead of the purchase date. What other company does that.I am not planning to use my pumps for bilge clearing. As a bit of a prepper I have my pumps to empty my basement sump in a power outage or to move water from the pond to the garden or rain barrels as needMy basement watchdog pump will eat the large emergency battery in 48 hrs of power cuts and wet weather. I can run these small pumps from less powerful 12 v batteries as and when needed or from my solar generator/power banks.Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product. I hope you found it helpful!REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use. I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product. My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely.
