SZCOSupplies 7" Wide Black Leather Sporran with Chain Belt, Plated Celtic Design, and 3 Tassels

Item looks like a toy. The "plated" metal looks like the sort of shiny plastic you find on toy guns and is imperfectly stamped. Some of the bumps around the edges of it have dimples in the center, and some have the color worn off. On the edge of the scrollwork, there is extra material attached. On the inside, the rivets and rings that hold the plated thing and the tassels and snap in place are rusted. The tassels themselves are all glommed together, as if they were packaged wet and then dried together.Oh, and the belt/strap/hanger shown in the photo is not the one I received with it. There's a strip of 7" leather with a 13" chain at one end(pot metal) and a buckle at the other, and a piece of 14" leather with buckle holes punched in it attached to an 11" chain. The chain is badly made, and where the links come together, it will snag your kilt. If you have an authentic kilt, you've paid the price for an authentic kilt and you don't want to snag it. The silvertone paint is already coming off in places, and all I did was take it out of the plastic to measure it.This will be going back. I just wish I hadn't wasted my time on it. The only plus about it is that it doesn't smell.

Forget that belt in the picture . Like, erase it from your mind because you get a chain, which is fine but it was way too large for my fiance waist. We had to cut off several loops to make it look OK and not sag down. He's a 34"waist, so not tiny. The sporran itself is fine. The leather is stiff and feels ancient. The snap doesn't close all the way and is rusty. The metal design on the flap is heavy though, so it stays closed enough. All in all, it will work for his kilt costume, but I wish it were higher quality and at least closed all the way.

We were very impressed with the look and quality of this Sporran. During a recent trip to Scotland, we purchased a lovely kilt, kilt socks, kilt pin and belt -- to the tune of a ton of money. So, we didn't get a Sporran, thinking that here in the States, the kilt would probably be used once in a blue never. Then, by chance, I amazon'd the sporran -- lo and behold, pretty much the exact one we were looking at for about 80% less than the kilt shoppe in Edinburgh. And the quality is there. This sporran is big enough for a half-pint flask and a small knife and your iphone. Nice purchase. Quite pleased with the product and the quick mailing service.

This is a good size sporran, metal piece on flap is a nice touch and adds weight. It is a stiff leather that I hope will soften with time. The snap closure is very difficult to close but because of the flap weight it is not an issue. The chain that it comes with is rather weak and was missing one of the hooks to attach it. I will replace the chain and hook myself. For the price, this is not a bad purchase but do expect to make your own “Adjustments”. If you are looking for something sturdier, this is probably not your best choice but for an occasional costume accessory, it is ok. 4 stars because of price point

I was hoping that this Sporran would fill a need, after once wearing it to Church, it will not snap closed. Fought it for 10 minutes, without success. Do Not Waste your Money.

Purchased two of these sporrans, both came with chain straps rather than the pictured leather strap. The front plate is made of chrome painted metal, not plastic. Both come with metal button snaps to close the front flap. However, both snaps would not close once opened for first time, regardless of pressure applied or manipulation of the metal. Ended up removing the metal snaps with pliers and replacing with store bought magnetic snaps. Overall price is not horrible but expect to do some repairs if you purchase this product, as I have noticed in other customer reviews that I'm not the only person who had faulty snaps.

Looks nice - a bit shiny and cheaply chromed, but that's what I expected. The leather is decent. BUT... after one wear, the back leather belt loop stitching started to tear. ONE wear. Seriously?Don't try to save money, just suck it up and spend the money necessary to buy a good sporran. Certain don't by this one.

I ordered two Sporrans. Same price. This one was terrible. Whoever made it had no idea what a sporran is, or how it would normally be used. It was flat when empty, with no body or structure of any kind. The 'clasp' is a standard steel push button on the inside that doesn't close without significant pressure, which considering a sporran is suppose to sit just above your crotch, is annoying best and painful at worst. The metal boss is cheap, but clearly the only reason this item isn't $10. I sent it back to amazon. We'll see if they refund. Don't buy this there are definitely better options on amazon.

As the saying goes you get what you pay for. The quality is low grade and it shows. With that said if all you want is a sporran then this will do.

Every item is labelled with a warning it causes cancer. Don't order. If you have ordered, don't open. Just return, immediately.

Looks and feels great. Genuine leather with sturdy connections to the chain belt and buckles. The only issue is the snap closure, it is hard to snap into place on the one we received, it works but you really have to press down very hard and at the correct angle. Over all happy with the purchase.

nice looking but the snap could not be closed .Kind of defeats the purpose if I cant close it. But it is pretty. time will tell how it lasts otherwise. decent price
