Extremely good value for money spent!!
To start I am not affiliated with company in anyway and have not received any endorsements. I live in B.C. Canada and very much a novice photographer and far from a word smith. When I first started to look for a tripod and started to ask questions I soon learned you get what you pay for. Being a novice I didn’t want to spend huge money ($400.00 plus) but wanted good value for the money I was willing to spend. I found it in this tripod. Many of my comments below are made from my observations and getting the information from their customer service. I can not say enough about their service and having their customer service in the US gave me a little sense of confidence. I asked quite a few questions via email and got prompt replies. I found their Web Page, FB site and their add in Amazon lacking in a few details.Upon receiving my tripod and unboxing it I found the tripod bag wrapped in bubble wrap. The canvas type bag was 19 ¾” long and about 5”in dia. It was c/w handle that velcroed together. The bag has a nylon liner with a zipped pouch inside c/w a shoulder strap. The shoulder strap has plastic clips for attachment and is adjustable. Inside was the tripod c/w mounting plate plus the two additional mounting plates as indicated in the Amazon add. What wasn’t mentioned is the additional plate can come apart and be used for other lenses or additional camera bodies. The mounting plate come with a ‘D’ring for attachment or a slot for to use with a coin.First impressions is a very solid and HD looking tripod. With the upper legs measuring 27.9mm in dia.The tripod weighed 3# 11oz. Legs when extended were solid, there was no play or slop in the joints. The mounting plate was 57 ½” before the center pole was extended. The ball head has smooth action. There is a notch to pivot your camera over for portrait position (not mention or visible in adds.)My camera and zoom lens (150mm to 500mm) weighed approx. 6#. I placed the camera and lens on the tripod with the lens fully extended for 30min. and there was no droop.Cons:It comes with one spirit level on the side of the mounting plate. I would have preferred to have the centering style level. The leg angle locks, I feel would be better if they were spring loaded. The push/pull works but relies totally on the operator to assure the legs are secure. And when you have thousands of $ on top you would hate to see it get damaged just because you didn’t push in the lock far enough.I hope this helps the company in future sales and you the purchaser.
