Huge quality, small and light
Robust construction, feels high quality, and is very small and light making it easy to use with a smartphone. Sounds great compared to onboard PC sound card and iPhone or android smartphone. Can be used with several apps to output hi-res from smartphone but it’s own companion Hiby app is very good and works on iphone and android. Does not have the useless MQA nonsense or the double headphone jack to make it bigger than necessary like the newer models! It’s the cheapest quality dac out there I could find and honestly I don’t see why I’d ever need anything more than this for casual listening to hi-res music on my phone. I would recommend it!

Very good.
I bought this to enhance the music on my phone. I have a Huawei P30 which has dolby atmos and aptx hd. I normally listen through bluetooth which is very good as I have compatable aptx hd headphones.I have a lot of HiRes music saved to a SD card on my phone. Mainly FLAC or ALAC. I quite often listen though my wired Bose headphones and the music sounds fine.I decided to give this Hiby DAC a try to see if the sound could be improved. I am definitely no audiophile but I like listening to good quality music. This DAC definitely improves the sound quality. I noticed the instruments sound a lot more clearer and can hear parts of the music I hadn't noticed before. It's well built but small and light. It also works fine on my PC and laptop and importantly it's a very reasonable price compared to other big brand DACS. It's perfect for my ageing ears and as I said before I am no audiophile but it is perfect for my requirements.

For the money this is an absolute no-brainer
If you are currently plugging your headphones directly into a phone, laptop or tablet, the message is simple. Buy one of these. This is a little marvel. It's tiny so you can take it with you everywhere, it's usb powered so you will never have to charge it, and it's compatible with all devices so far as I can see (including Chrome OS, which is not clear from the description). Before we talk sound-quality I have to say upfront that I don't have any experience of the more high-end headphone amps so I can't comment on how this would compare. I have a budget-friendly Neotek headphone amp which does a good job but is about the same size and weight as my phone and will only go for about four hours before it needs recharging, The Hiby definitely sounds better, with more definition, an improved soundstage and clarity right across the dynamic range. If you want higher volume it will certainly deliver that too though for me that isn't really an issue. I can't say how well it would drive high impedance phones, but it has no trouble with either my in-ear Soundmagic E80s or my full-size Philips fidelio XR2 HDs. I can guarantee a big improvement in sound over your on-board soundcard, and for such a wallet-friendly and simple to use solution you would be hard-pushed to do better. Like I said, it's a no-brainer

Upgrade that awful laptop audio output for not a lot!
Bought this just to check it out as it was on special offer. I have a dongle or two already so familiar with how they work. Always handy to have options when you have several divices that can use them.I tried this with my Dell and Framework laptops and the headphone audio quality was night and day. A vast improvement over the stock output. Much more oomph and clarity. It's a tiny little device and detects automatically in Windows 10 and 11. All the adapters are included.Great value. Doesnt do MQA apparently but who cares? I only bother with Red Book but I did try some 24bit hi-res stuff through my IEMs and it played them fine.

GREAT, whilst it worked......
It broke very quickly. Only playing audio through one headphone. Connection issue internally. Works only when in a very specific position with just the right amount of force applied.... Fantastic audio quality when it was working. You notice a big difference in clarity and fullness of sound. Shame it broke so quickly.

Fantastic little device
I was actually surprised how small this was - it's tiny! I use it with my phone to drive my IEMs and headphones, which it manages to do perfectly. Sound quality is surprisingly good for the value/size.The volume buttons are a nice touch - they feel solid and chunky. You can skip tracks too, but for some reason you can't pause/play - that's the only thing I would change on this. Seems like a strange omission.

Great Sabre chip dac at a good price!
I've owned a few dongles based on a sabre dac chip and this sounds as good as most certainly equal to any Dragonfly dongle , warm mellow sound but great detail retrieval vocals especially realistic on this dongle.Comes with an INDEPENDENT volume rocker control on its side which I know is important to some people. Power output is very reasonable at 70mw per channels at 32ohms enough to drive the majority of headphones to loud listening levels. I bought the red version that's comes with a beautiful faux leather presentation box and 2 connectors for great connectivity, bought this on offer at just over £20 but even for £50 it's a steal I've heard much more expensive dongles that don't perform nearly as well as this recommended
