I loved this film when first watched it years ago and eric stoltz had just become a young and inspiring actor. The story and its highs and lows from cher who loves the high life and her cocaine habit to the biker gang who adopted rocky her son with a severe face disfigurement as one of there own gang. Everyone loves rocky and all he wants is to collect his fav football/hockey team cards and tour the world when leaves school. Rocky is clever and also plays the role which showed the sensitive side of looking after his mother when off the rails and how he helped others at a campus for others with disabilities to graduating from school until a seizure ended his life so young. Cher portrays her role as a mother who clearly loves her son despite her habits to the full..she fights education authorities for rocky to attend local school and graduate as his looks are judged on his ability to cope in a main stream school. If never seen this endearing film I recommend you buy it and sit back and enjoy this inspiring young man who takes life in his stride and never loses faith in what he dreams of.

Still as good a film as I remembered it

I purchased this film, for two reasons, one was that Cher was in it, as would of liked a film she was in, and she was pretty good as the mother, two I loved it when it came out, as it showed how others treated me, one I was a monster, for a few I was a hero :-) ok sounds very cheesy. But the performances were amazing, without CGI, a dated film, as already mentioned the performances second to none, true story of a young teenager Rocky Dennis, another Rocky film, only this one had no winners except in knowing about this person, and each of the stars made that story truly magical. Suggest tissues at the ready, as even for me passed middle age, male, shed a few tears.

I ve seen this film years ago thought it was a really good film.now i bought it ,watched it again .still a brill film

Saw this film for the first time when I was about 13. I'm now further past 30 than I would like to be and it still breaks my heart every time I watch it. I always cry, through laughter, tenderness, sadness, pride, pratically every emotion possible! Cher's character is amazing - so flawed but with a fierce love for her child that would teach a lot of parents a thing or two. Eric Stolz, what can I say. He is absolutely awesome. Everyone should see this film, it is incredible and completely inspiring.Oh, and if the leather and denim clad bikers do it for you, Sam Elliott never looked better! With that voice and that look, what more could you ask for?!
