Stories like this are why people have loved Superman for 80+ years!
This doesn't disappoint! What a crossover!Story: Jurgens and Tomasi have both been writing tour de forces on their respective Superman books, so it should come as no surprise that this book is epic! I don't really want to talk about plot lines like I do most of the time, but I'd like to mention some things I liked about the book and some things I would have liked instead with minimal spoilers. The mystery of who the totally human Clark Kent finally comes to an end here and I know you'll be blown away as to who "Clark" really is. I greatly enjoyed the confrontation between Superman and "Clark" where the identity of the entity is revealed. It takes Superman through some of his greatest rogues before the big reveal. Superman and Lois then continue on their quest to get their son, Jon, back from "Clark", and while they go on their otherworldly adventure, we also get to hear how "Clark" came to be. When you realize the full backstory, it all makes sense, and it also involves the most mysterious figure in Superman lore right now. In the end, we get some epic showdowns, deja vu with New 52, and a huge tribute to Superman Red/Blue. I know that storyline from the 90s wasn't well received, but trust me, this isn't what you might think. It's only a somewhat vague reference, but longtime readers will instantly recognize it, and appreciate how it's used here. We once again get to see the awesome family dynamic of the "Smiths" and Jon plays a HUGE and crucial role in fixing the situation. I don't even want to mention what the finale means, but the implications are GARGANTUAN!!! If anything, by the time this story is done, it goes to show that DC listens to their fans (unlike some other publishers) and they absolutely delivered on their promise to re-inject love into the DC Universe. True love conquers all here! We also get a small revelation about that mysterious figure, and it sets up nicely for the mega confrontation between optimism vs. pessimism, hope vs. despair. I'd just like to mention that I would have liked Superman and Lois running their gauntlet to be a little more drawn out instead of the way it was depicted. I mean, the way it was depicted was somewhat appropriate for the circumstances, but I would have liked to see it differently. I also didn't get what some of the things happening at the beginning of the book were, like Lana Lang (Superwoman) dying, some secret agents trying to track Superman's Himalayas Fortress down. But, all that seems to be gotten out of the way pretty early. I would have liked the final design of Superman's costume to reincorporate the red underwear, but I don't know if DC is ever going to bring that back. Anyway, this book is definitely worthy of five stars!Art: A great job all around by all! Clay Mann's covers really stand out, as well as the interiors of Patrick Gleason and Doug Mahnke. I'm so glad it was Mahnke who did the last issue. His very detailed style is exactly what I wanted in this book. One thing I have to make special note of is the awesome coloring in this book. It's WOWEE good!! All the colors pop out so much. Some books are so horribly colored, you'd think you weren't even reading a comic book. But, this book is so vibrant and beautiful to look at. This is exactly what a Superman book ought to look like. I always love Gary Frank's variant covers as well. I can't wait for Doomsday Clock!Overall: Nearly perfect, this is one epic Superman story that has huge implications in the DC Universe. There's some wild cameos from Steel, Lex Luthor, Cyborg Superman, Mongul, Parasite, and various others! This story goes to show that DC will not abandon the New 52, and I'm so grateful for that. They're also showing the massive importance of pre Flashpoint as well. What we get is the best compromise or middle ground that will bind all old school readers and newer audiences alike. We all win with this one! Superman's back baby!

One of Superman's Oldest Foes Returns in a Bombastic Read
Easily one of the best crossovers so far post-Rebirth, DC combines the two on going Superman titles in one spectacular book that answers one of the first big Rebirth era mysteries: who is the new doppleganger Clark Kent. Essentially a retconn-vehicle to undo the New 52 era Truth story arc wherein Lois revealed Superman's secret identity to the world. In the wake of the pre-New 52's older Superman revealing himself to the world, a phony Clark Kent has appeared in Metropolis and seems to be living Clark's life. While the appearance of the new Kent helps Superman reclaim his secret identity he and his wife Lois are clearly disturbed that a man is out there who believes himself to be Clark. With that doppleganger Kent now growing a creepy fondness for Lois, Superman is desperate to find out who the fake Kent really is. Superman Reborn is a fun story that helps reset the status quo of Superman's secret identity while also folding both the New 52 and new (old) Superman stories into each other (the book suggests these two distinct Supermen are actually the same person having been split apart by the machinations of Rebirth's main on going threat Dr. Manhattan). While there aren't many major reveals for those interested in the bigger Watchmen story arc, the book knocks it out of the park when it comes to returning one of Superman's oldest foes to the spotlight. A tricky character to pull off as he can be a bit goofy, the book adds a wonderful creep factor and air of menace to this old frenemy (especially thanks to Gleason's artwork). Easily one of the best Superman stories of the past few years and continued proof that giving Superman a family was a tremendous decision as all three members of the family get their time to shine here.

Reborn Superman is my second favorite costume (aside from the classic)
Collects Action Comics #973-976 & Superman vol. 4 #18-19After killing Superman twice, Jurgens (Death) and Tomasi (Final Days) unite to "Reborn" the Man of Steel!Story is genuine, art is incredible, and it connects everything Superman to then be relaunched, all leading to the anticipated DOOMSDAY CLOCK!(SPOILERS)Loved Mxyzptlk's involvement. My favorite part is where he breaks the fourth wall and references the 50's Superman so much.

Poor packing
Trade paperback novel was received with corner damage due too poor packaging. Content was good and enjoyable. I recommend all DC readers to read this storyline event.

Kind of a romp of a one off... worth the read
I enjoyed a lot of this even if I found both artwork and story uneven. Plays important role in other DC rebirth plots so I'd certainly recommend it. I found the often clever referencing of DC history a little jarring in the context of what should have been an emotionally charged story

Instant classic
This will be up there with the likes of All Star Superman and Red Son for decades to come. One of the greatest Superman stories I have ever read. No more to say. If you love Superman, read this. If you read this and don't enjoy it, you don't actually love Superman.

Awesome story. Captivating art
Awesome story. Captivating art. With no knowledge of pre52 Superman it still flows well. I recommend watching a post review video if your new to comics to get a true understanding of how the story directly ties into some of the different story arcs in DC history.

Gran historia
Una gran historia de Dan Jurgens que se lee de golpe, muy amena. En cuanto a la edición es el típico Hardcover con sobrecubierta.
