Simple Solution, Great Service, Awesome Product
I was looking for a streamline effective solution to automate my blinds. I have purchased a few SwitchBots for my blinds and while they work great, they are cumbersome and frankly they do not look good. While Sunsa may cost a bit more, they look great, they simply replace your current wand. Easy set up and easy to change out batteries. They work great with minimal noise and you can still open or close your blinds with the double tap feature. You can schedule time, dates etc when to open or close. Alexa control and calibration is straight forward and again simple. Had them for a few days and they are working great. One other thing to consider is the customer centric after the sale service. The Founder and CEO reached out to me asking if all went well on the install. WoW! In this age of poor service to get that level of support is awesome. I will be buying more to automate all my blinds. Well worth the money.

Product review updates included in this
Update 01/08/25I want to thank Amazon for the ability to continue to update product reviews, as products are used.I open and close my blinds 8-12 times in total daily. These wands are my undisputedly my smartest purchases, by far. I love sunshine and daylight. I hate having to move, climb or stretch over furniture to open the blinds, which is seriously dangerous at my. The reason for my updated review is that I have recently learned I could have used my blinds by bluetooth from my smart phone during my weeks without internet. Shame on me for not trying that. I know better for next time and hopefully there won't be a next time.Update 10/15/24I am 70 yrs old and I have never been so impressed with a product and/or customer service. I lost power during hurricanes Helene and Milton. I had to move the wands from their holders so I could manually open the blinds. However, once power and internet came back online they connected right back up to Amazon Alexa and after I put the wands back in their holders, all I had to do was recalibrate them. Love, love, love this product. And while I didn't have to reach out for support, I have experience from previous interactions, I know I am in great hands. You can't say that about many products and services. OUTSTANDING!!Update. 10/26/23This company has superior customer support by far. My issue has been well resolved. I look forward to easy operations.Update 10/26/2023In the interest of time, I purchased another wand directly from their website. While considerably cheaper that way, they charge you shipping and you have to wait a while. I advised them of my issue in their comments section during payment because I can't seem to reach out to them again through Amazon, however, I have only had snippets of time to spend on this when I think of it. I updated my review to 3 starts because, as of this writing, the second blind seems to work find. The app must have been updated because now the scheduled openings/closing work, except they don't seem to agree with Alexa on when sunrise/sunset are so I get surprised each time. LOL. I will update if/when there is more to report.Update 10/24/2023Seller was responsive with the overheating issue I experienced however, I now have the same issue with the replacements they sent. There is a small metal piece that seems to break off and overheats the batteries. The way you know this is because when the stop operating and you touch the wand to reset, you pretty decently burn your fingers. Reaching out to them today.Update: Sept 9, 2023Manufacture’s customer service this year was awesome. They responded right away and although they did not send the promised updated wand turner I was able to purchase a new piece for each blind and at least they work now. I haven’t tried scheduling from the app because due to excessive heat I have kept the blinds closed to cut down an HVAC costs. They are more expensive now so it still prohibits me from purchasing for all of my blinds however I don’t have to crawl over furniture to open the others (yet). I will continue to update.Update: Jan 12, 2023: Blinds closing on schedule does not work. Open schedule works fine. I am contacting seller again. My devices did not come with instructions. I had to reference Youtube. Once I had them installed, they work OK but I need to better calibrate I set a schedule for them to open at sunrise and close at sunset. Today is day one and they opened perfectly. I had to contact the seller for instructions for connecting to my Alexa so I can open/close with voice command. Seller responded almost immediately and the directions work perfectly. Kudos for that!I angle my closed blinds, depending on the season. Voice command seems to close the way I would use during summer but no worries. I can do what I need on my phone. I haven't figured out how to only open the blinds part way and I am not certain that can be achieved. (this can be done on the app)I am overall pleased with this product. My friends laughed at me for this luxury but I gave to myself for Christmas. If they were $50 cheaper per blind, I would purchase for all of my blinds.

Android app broken for months, shady practices
We got a few before Christmas and we were eager to get them running with their app before putting them up and setting them up in Home Assistant. The problem is that when I search for Sunsa in the Play Store (on a Samsung phone running Android 14 and a tablet running 13, only Google Pixel phones have 15) I get "Looking for Sunsa? This app isn't available for your device because it is made for an older version of Android"...see attached screenshot.I reached out to Sunsa via online chat on 12/21/24 and an actual person said that they received a few other reports and they are looking into it. They gave me a link to the install location and that points to a shared Google Drive. I asked if they were troubleshooting and trying to fix it and they said that with the holidays, it will take some time. I didn't see any kind of notice on their site or anywhere else. When I pressed, I was told that they started receiving reports at the end of October and that the Google Drive download is the official workaround because the file is too large to upload on their website. So it's been going on for nearly 3 months and the holidays have nothing to do with it. So,1. How am I supposed to trust an app stored on the Google Drive that I only learned about by reaching out via chat? How do I know for example that their site wasn't hacked and some teenager is pointing me to spyware?2. How do I trust a company that sells the most expensive blind opener on the market that can't get a few devs together to fix an issue, at a time when probably they sell the most products and have the most people trying to install them? After nearly 3 months, there's no notice of this issue anywhere on their site, there is a sale posted on their home page, and the workaround is a Google Drive download. I don't know what is the gravity of the issue and what could cause this problem. But it is the lack of transparency that gets me: you are running a sale for the holidays and not telling your customers that they're buying a product with an app that can't be downloaded and they have to make their way to the online chat to learn of the "official workaround". I assume they are a small company. But even so and even if the link is legit, the whole approach to this is shady.I for one choose not to download the app this way and I'll return them. Sunsa team, if you see this, make it right. Fix the app or stop selling your product until you do rather than try to sell even more. Or at least update your site and Amazon listing to say that the app is broken and that buyers need to be ok with installing apps from the Google drive with no knowledge of what it is that they are installing, permissions etc
