A cheap toy
I bought this to play/practice with my young daughter. It is super cheap pine, stapled together. She swung at me a couple of times, "knuckle guard" came off almost immediately.Sword snapped in two at the guard after not more than a dozen swings.1/2" X 1/2" soft pine spine from blade, glued into an actually pretty decent handle.Like a said, barely a toy...actually a kids' wallhanger.

Broken
Although the sword would have been pretty nice being made out of wood, unfortunately it was broken during shipping. Yes, made in China. The way it was attached was with tiny staples and that wasn’t strong enough the way it was shipped. Very sad indeed. Being used as a prop/display is good, cannot be used to actually hit anything because it’s just glued and stapled together.

BOUGHT FOUR, USED NONE!!!
These were purchased for stage props. They were used for one rehearsal and broke apart on the first use. Bought four, used NONE! The guard was attached with staples,, the wood between the handle and the sword is only about 1/2” x 3/8” by 5/8 inch. A very fragile construction so may be only good if you want something to hang on the wall.

Sturdy wood pirate sword
Excellent toy wood pirate (or other swashbuckling character) sword. Please note, however, that the tip is very sharp, so it may not be appropriate for children or drunk adults.

Good prop
The wood on this product is not meant to last power swings and such

Arrrgghhh Matey!
Great prop for the price, with a little work, it's perfect for my needs. I bought this to use with my Amy Pond costume. Out of the box, it had a nice finish and was ready to go. I spent a week sanding and painting in various stages until it looked like metal. I wrapped the handle in leather tape to finish it off.

Great product for a great value
I am using this sword for a pirate costume and I love it. It's got a good heft to it without being overly heavy. The wood looks nice enough on its own, although I will probably be painting it for an antiqued look.

Good for kids
It's well made, everything fits well, no loose parts. My only real problem is that it is so light weight. Too light to properly substitute a sword for hema training and it feels like it would break if you hit anything too hard with it. But if you want something for kids to play with it will work fine.

just a bit light
It was a great design fits comfortable in your hands, allows good practice to form. If I had to say something bad its a bit light to practice overly with, so you either buy two and practice against a lighter sword or buy an inexpensive stainless or steel model to practice with aswell

not as good quality as I was expecting
Guards on handles are loose, not as good quality as I was expecting. Shipping was faster than expected though.
