Nice detailed book
The Southwest does not have very much in the way of gems like the Southeast book has. A little disappointing.

Could have used google.
I expected this to be about the rocks in this region, but it was about businesses that offer rock related services like tours. There wasn’t anything in the book I couldn’t find in a quick internet search.

Buy this book if you want a list of pay sites.
This book is a total waste of my money..! It should have said,'Where & How to Dig, Pan and Mine Your Own Gems & Minerals at a Pay Site'. If I had of wanted a list of all the pay sites I would have looked them up.There is absolutely ZERO information on locations to go for free to dig/hunt gens and minerals or how to do these things.I am VERY disappointed with this book.

Mostly for beginners and family groups.
Kid friendly information. Not useful for even intermediate collectors that don't want buckets of rocks brought to them to pick through.
