Brilliant! Cheap! Works Flawlessly!
I've purchased two of these for 11 quid for two reasons. 1) to expand the Ethernet ports of the Virgin Media superhub (it has 5) which is downstairs and... 2) To connect several devices upstairs to a wired network via one Ethernet cable (because wifi is crappy). All you have to do is just plug in the cable and it just works! No configuration needed my PC, Now TV and Raspberry Pi located upstairs just connects automatically. Works perfectly with the VM Superhub. Build quality is cheap and plasticy but robust enough for my needs. My only criticism of the product is that it isn't weighty, for example if you have several cables plugged in the cables can lift the device up at an angle when placed on your desk (but it does come with wall mounts if you prefer that) and the other thing is the power socket is located on the side which seems like an odd place to put it. But that seems like nitpicking for the price I paid it was the cheapest way of expanding my home gigabit network and it works flawlessly. I will recommend this product who wish to expand their home network on the cheap.

Okay but...
Great value for money, works well cured the problem of the new EERO router only have 1 spare port. Only problem is is so lightweight the cables pull it all over the place so it's tricky to hold it down on a flat surface!

Fab gizmo that works straight out of the box
Over the years my internet has been speeded up a number of times with the latest increase to 1Gb. Ive not bothered too much about internet speeds around the house as we have a Mesh system & I assumed that the speed would be ok, how wrong could I be ! We have a distributed wired & Mesh system & due to inadequate number of ports from the router, have used wired distributors to send the signal around the house. On checking the speed, the router & direct connections were fine but all others were less than 100mb. On checking the distributors, these may have been ‘state of the art’ at the time but couldn’t handle more than 100mb 😩 I have now swapped these old distributors for the 1Gb D-Link modules & suddenly I’m in a new fast world where wired is better than Mesh 😀 Straight out of the box, plug in & use, no faffing around, soooo good. I recommend these.

Does everything a budget gigabit switch should do
Bought this since I'd run out of switch ports on my small office network. Works perfectly and being unmanaged needs no installation or set-up (short of plugging it in to an available socket and attaching your patch leads). The switch autosenses 10/100/1000 connections and indicates the connection speed on its LED display. My two main computers are aging Pentium4s with UDMA6/ATA133 controllers/disks. My structured cabling is 100 Mbit CAT5 (not CAT5E). I bought a gigabit switch for future proofing but didn't expect any significant performance improvement because of storage bottlenecks and cabling limitations. I was pleasantly surprised when the switch's LEDs reported it was game to try gigabit throughput. Qcheck reports a throughput of 727Mbps although the 1kB data limit seems too low for a reliable test at this speed. More importantly, I'm getting a real world throughput of 250 - 350 Mbps (disk to disk). In use, file transfers have speeded up noticeably and my network backups (30 gigabytes) are completing 25% faster than before. Since the switch drops its power consumption when idle I'm saving power. For me the cheap, white plastic case isn't too easy on the eye (I prefer Netgear's Prosafe metal cases) but other than that I have no complaints. I've had mixed reliability from Dlink products in the past but I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and recommend this for the cost (27GBP when I bought it).

Simply delivers
D-Link DGS-1005D 5 Port 10/100/1000Mb Gigabit Switch The whole device is very compact. The top is slightly curved from side to side and contains the LEDs that indicate the status of each port. The rear of the device has the 5 Ethernet ports and also the socket for the supplied power plug. Installing could not be easier: plug in the power lead; plug in the Ethernet network cables; you're done. As expected, it worked first time. To check it out I did a backup of my wife's computer using Synchredible and checking the data flow with BitmeterII. The backup completed far faster than previously and the BitmeterII barchart showed that data was being shifted across the network as fast as is probably possible, considering only CAT5E cabling is installed rather than the recommended CAT6. The other big plus with this device is the advertised energy savings. This is the first switch I've seen that bigs this up. Apparently the circuitry on each port switches itself into standby when the port is not active. The claiming is for up to 85% electricity savings. Though I have no practical way of proving it, I'm prepared to take their word. It should keep the device a whole lot cooler as well. So, overall, very pleased with my purchase. At the price it seems unbeatable value for money. Only time will tell if it proves reliable. No reason why it shouldn't. There's really not much that can go wrong. If you have the need for more connections, they make an 8 port version as well. Full review on DooyooUK.

Defraudado completamente.

the product came with the European plug. I want to return but the company wont accept it. I would exchange if there was some way to do it.
