Well structured and insightful, no matter how long you've been in the sector!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which in and of itself is already something, since most business books tend to be articles-gone-wild, i.e., the author had one big insight that should have been covered in 5-10 pages, but instead got bloated into a book, with the same effect of telling a three line joke in four acts...That's definitely not the case here. It's well structured and worth the time. From reviewing the historical roots of banks (and banking! Which it does a good job of decoupling from Banks, see below) to breaking down the various larval stages that banks have gone through up to the present, the authors do a great job of giving the context in which to ask all of their insightful questions, assuming nothing about the reader other than an interest in banking and finance. That could have been really tedious for a banking and finance professional, but instead I found it refreshing and a great reminder of how and why we got to where we are. And much more excitingly: where we might go from here.RB&F covers not only incumbents and neobanks, but also more broadly the fintech phenomenon, both from a customer-centric "what's-driving-this" angle and from a technology and business model innovation perspective. If you've been in banking a long time, it'll remind you that a lot of things we hold as given are most certainly not, and if you're new in the broader sector, it's a distillation of years of insights gleaned from every angle: C-level roles, advisory roles, innovation roles, and of course, as designers and consumers of the technology.I really recommend it, it'll get your creative (and destructive-in the best possible way!) juices flowing.

A must read for anyone interested in Fintech
The book walks you through the history of banking from the fist bankers appearing in Italy to the Fintech landscape we see around us today. It outlines the current opportunities in financial services industry and paints a picture of how they could be addressed to benefit the customer. It includes a unique categorisation of the current key geographical hubs and the different tribes tackling similar opportunities. The author delivers sometimes complex ideas in a jargon free and no fluff style that will make the book as a reference point on many shelves.

Excellent review of the banking sector and how it will change
This book is an accessible review of the fintech revolution and how banking will change in the future. I really enjoyed the description of the historical context and the hub by hub review of the main centres which will drive future growth.

Insightful perspective
The authors bring a fresh new perspective on a insufficiently explored topic. The combination of practitioners' experience and some radical thinking has been an eye-opener. A new way of looking into the industry
