Q: Do you need flippers too?

For kids staying close to shore where they can touch, they do not need fins. But for safety reasons we recommend using fins for anyone going out farther in the ocean where they can't touch (rip currents, big waves, etc) The fins will also make it much easier to catch waves and stay in the wave longer if it slows down.

Q: Does this product come in pairs ( one for each hand)?

No. You only need it on one hand. Watch the videos at Slyde Handboards to get a better understanding of how they are used. Lots of fun!

Q: Does this come with a leash, or do you have to purchase seperate?

It does not come with a leash. You slide one hand or possibly two through the velcro cover and that's it. You hold it out in front of you as you ride the wave in. Hope this helps you with your decision!

Q: I'm 100lbs and want to use this to rest on when tired out in water - would it be buoyant enough for that purpose (I know it's not intended purpose)?

It is not made as a “safety” device but it does give you enough float to give a break while you are waiting for sets to come in.
