Learning Fun Made Easy - My Son Can't Get Enough!
Okay, so we were looking for something to get our son excited about learning and not have to use his tablet all the time. He absolutely loves this. It's like magic how the books come to life with the audio and interactive activities. Honestly, I was impressed with how engaging it is. He's learning about reading, counting, problem-solving, and all sorts of other stuff, but he thinks he's just playing games. The stylus is super easy for him to use, and he loves tapping on all the pictures and words to hear the sounds and stories. I really like that the activities have different levels, so he can keep learning and challenging himself as he gets older. It's also great that it's not just a one-time thing. There are so many different activity books available, so we can keep adding to his collection. We've already gotten him a few more, and he's always asking for more. If you're looking for a fun and interactive way to get your kids excited about learning, I highly recommend the LeapFrog LeapStart. It's affordable, durable, and it really works! Five stars – and a big thank you to LeapFrog for making learning so much fun!

Great item
My son loves LeapFrog LeapStart - he uses it in the car anytime we go out. Keeps him busy. I'll give 5-stars, but, (having been in the toy business and product design years ago, with factories in Shenzhen), I would have designed the outercasing with a (rubber) cover or sleeve, so it will bounce, if dropped (kids you know). The soft rubber or sponge material cover also makes it easy for the kid using it to have it on their tiny laps, (without sliding off)... mmm - just make sure it doesn't absorb heat. Could be sleeve, so it can be cleaned and replaced over time when it shows signs of wear and tear, creating several designs for VAS - value added services or Accessories increasing Earnings and Revenue stories. Differenct character designs (like Cory or Cassy, or other pressed into the material, or form molded). If its a sleeve, low investment costs, and high ROIC. No need to make new molds and toolings for plastic injection molded parts and 120 days to create, inject test, and get new molds into production lines. Rubber / sponge padding will make LeapStart more durable. Also - the AA batteries for Sound/Audio functions only last about 3-5 days (batteries are expensive) in 1-yr will spend more than the LeapStart device, while the Pen using the internal lithium ion battery for its functions - lasting about 2-weeks per charge time. Better to have 2 lithium ion internal batteries, No AA batteries at all for (value for money) as a purchase has a never ending (cost). I would also make the On/Off button accessible thru the closed case. - hello When you plug it in to charge the internal lithium ion battery, the machine automatically turns On, so you have to Open it, to turn if back Off again, or listen to it talking for some time before it sleeps by itself. I get it, the trigger mechanism is when you plug it into a laptop or computer to download book audio's, but still its better to have a hole in the outercase where the On/Off button is accessible when the foldable LeapStart is in its closed position. These product improvements will definitely increase buyers happiness, while at the same time increasing the Earnings and Revenues of the Company, something most Asian manufacturers still don't get until today. (I remember seeing Vtech back in 1994 when I lived in Hong Kong for 8 years, native to Seattle). Yes, I know, I can design better than what's being done today. From a Useablity standpoint, you have to think 4-5 steps further than anyone else to increase a products lifecycle and end-of-life.

Fun little expensive but worth it
I love it for my son it's fun he's 2 and half years old so it's good for his age i want to get him more books but they're kind of expensive, but i think it's worth it.

Very engaging and educational toy
This birthday gift for my 4 yr old granddaughter was an instant hit! She was fascinated, trying out all the basic options (numbers, letters, music keyboard, etc) on the toy before we put in the books. She very carefully went to each page, clicking on everything in each book. I don't think I've ever seen her so focused for so long! I love the fact that this is a bit challenging for her right now, but she can still have fun and learn. Even better, the toy can grow with her as we add new books.

Good start - can use improvements
My 2.5-year-old son is learning to use the LeapFrog LeapStart, and it's been great at keeping him engaged. The interactive book set is exactly what I expected. I love that my child can still enjoy the LeapStart without a book, and I appreciated that the included books provided a sample of the activities available for purchase. I’m giving it 4 stars, but I would suggest a few design improvements. I think the outer casing could benefit from a soft rubber or sponge cover. This would help cushion the device if dropped (a real possibility with kids!) and make it easier for little ones to hold on their laps without it slipping. Just be mindful that the material doesn’t retain heat. One downside is the AA batteries for the sound/audio functions, which only last about 3-5 days. Over a year, battery costs could easily surpass the price of the LeapStart itself. The pen, on the other hand, uses an internal lithium-ion battery that lasts about two weeks per charge. It would be better if the device relied solely on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, eliminating the need for AA batteries altogether, improving value for money. Another improvement would be making the On/Off button accessible through the closed case. Currently, when you plug it in to charge, the device turns on automatically, and you have to open it to turn it off again, or wait for it to go into sleep mode. While I understand the device is designed to trigger when connected to a computer to download audio for the books, having a small opening for the On/Off button when the LeapStart is closed would be much more convenient. Overall, these adjustments would make the LeapStart more durable and enhance the user experience
