This does not change from black to white when filled with hot liquid. The picture of the train stays on the cup whether it’s full of hot liquid or not.

Q: would like to know if this cup has a flat bottom or does it have a ridge?

The bottom is not completely flat. It has a slight curve, but it's not too deep.
