The Mark Stephens Yoga Sequencing Deck

Great Deck and Perfect Visual Aid for Yoga Teachers
Wonderful deck! The pictures are beautiful and nicely done. The information is clear and informative. There is information about the asanas and how to sequence them together for a routine that flows together nicely. It's a great companion to Mark Stephen's "Yoga Sequencing" book. I highly recommend this for yoga teachers and anyone that wants to deepen their practice and create their own yoga routines. It's especially great for visual learners like myself. I bought this for myself and I also gifted it to one of my close friends when she graduated from her 200 hour yoga teacher training.Edit: I I have now bought 3 copies of this deck. I bought a second one since I gave the first to my friend and then gifted the second to my yoga teacher trainer. She LOVED it and so did the other students in my class. At least 2 of them went home and bought it the same night they saw it. I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews about this deck.....the information is easy to read, there is both English and Sanskrit names of the asanas, and the pictures are impeccable. I really don't think a deck can get any more descriptive as this one or there wouldn't be any room on the cards. Once again, this deck is a winner and a very helpful visual aid.

Perfect supplement to my future RYT-200 training!
Fantastic!Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention to the dimensions of these Yoga sequencing cards but was pleasantly surprised to see that they were larger than expected. The perfect size for me to lay them out on the ground while working on a flow for practice. Since I am a visual learner, this deck has been invaluable to me.The cards are made of quality card stock with a slightly glossy finish and features photos of asanas of varying levels of ease and difficulty. On the front of the card is the photo of the posture and in it's English and Sanskrit name. On the back side of the card, it provides detailed information on how to open and how to stabilize as well as provides counter poses to each posture. Extremely helpful!Although I have been taking Yoga on and off for about 8 years, now that I am planning on pursuing becoming a Yoga instructor, this takes away some of the intimidation of what to expect when I go for my RYT-200 training. Highly recommend these cards to every level of Yogi out there!

Yes!
Excellent series of cards, cards can either work directly on specific poses, or be utilize to creat a beginner sequence. Each card correlates with the other in that on the back of each card there is a great representation of how each posture can coincide with other postures in the deck, and more intermediate postures also. These cards also give specific notations on what is happening throughout the body to allow these postures to function properly and get full alignment properties out of them! I enjoyed this deck thoroughly due to taking my first 200YTT, learning a bit more than 'sequenced' posture, utilizing these cards I gain more about what each posture is doing to my body, while practicing yoga.A+Highly Suggest for a substitute for learning.

... yoga decks I have seen - and that's a good thing in my book
I was surprised that the cards were so big - they are larger then other yoga decks I have seen - and that's a good thing in my book. I like that in addition to the pose image, they include helpful cues for the poses and additional information on poses to prepare for and counter pose the asana shown. I am currently in a yoga teacher training program and liked having so much information about each pose summarized on one card. You can use the cards to help plan sequences or in various other ways - draw a few cards and build a practice around them. I was puzzled by a few things - for example tree pose (Vrksasana) is in the back bend category of cards.

Versatile Yoga Pose Deck !
I teach yoga for a living but for my own home practice I like to use this deck to mix it up some on poses I want to work on... the description in my opinion does not even do it justice! The deck is amazing!!! So many cards of yoga poses broke up by color in what body part to work on! Literally genius and prob great for those studying yoga poses! I am 100% a fan of these! I’v had a few yoga card decks and this by far is the best!

Not a good resource for beginners
I have a 30 year yoga practice and I bought these cards to help show my physical therapist components of my yoga practice so we could discuss which were appropriate for aspects of my recovery. But these cards are not a good set of visuals for the capabilities of the average yogi. Instead most of the cards show incredibly flexible yogis, probably teachers, in the most advanced version of almost every pose. There are no modifications or less extreme versions of any of the poses offered. There are no suggestions as to how to sequence the poses either. And I honestly didn't find the accompanying book particularly helpful in either regard. I'm not sure who would be served by this resource except teachers who are teaching extremely advanced asana practices only with students of the most advanced capabilities. It's too bad, the cards are beautifully photographed and a nice size. But unless you're looking to amp up an already advanced practice and you already understand all the principles of sequencing and anatomy necessary to use these cards, I'm not sure how one would really use these cards on a daily basis.

Me encantaron!!!

Great teaching resource
This is an excellent complement to the teacher training books by the same author and a superb sequence planning aid. It is by no means exhaustive but focuses on core poses enough that it can be adapted to the many branches in terms of practice styles. The booklet provides lesson planning basics and templates and the cards are organised through colour coding. They feature reminders on the backs in terms of how to build around each pose and how to instruct on them.

Best investment for practising yoga on your own
The quality of these cards are really top class, well made and strong enough that they will not bend or be damaged easily. Perfectly sized for viewing and easy to read on reverse of the card. They were larger than I envisaged and was pleasantly surprised.I miss not having my lessons with a yoga teacher so these will assist and motivate me to continue on my own. They will also be helpful when planning a set of sequences.
