Why isn't the mirror "real glass"? This is a beautiful piece, & I paid good money for this mosaic mirror, to NOT have a real mirror in it. I had thought to buy another one, but I don't think so.

I needed a mirror for my hallway. I love the colors of this mirror. It had a pop of color in my hallway. It looks heavier than it is the colored squares around the mirror are not glass. They’re actually plastic. So they don’t shine quite as brightly. However, it does make the mirror, lighter weight, and easy to hang. Nobody can tell the difference. I would definitely recommend this mirror.
